BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
(1) Field of the Invention

The disclosure relates to pocket assemblies and more particularly pertains to a new pocket assembly for condom storage. The present invention discloses pocket assembly comprising a pouch, which can be selectively engaged to an undergarment. A flap engaged to the pouch can be reversibly affixed over a top of a pouch to secure condoms within the pouch.

(2) Description of Related Art Including Information Disclosed Under 37 CFR 1.97 and 1.98

The prior art relates to pocket assemblies. Prior art pocket assemblies are integral to undergarments and have pockets with tops, which are closed by elastic bands or zippers. These prior art pocket assemblies typically are not intended for stowing condoms and lack a flap that can be reversibly affixed over a top of a pouch to secure condoms within the pouch.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a pouch, which is configured to be engageable to an article of clothing. The pouch has a top, which is open and thus configured for insertion of an item, such as a pair of condoms. A flap is engaged to the pouch proximate to the top and is configured to selectively engage the pouch to reversibly close the top to retain the item in the pouch.

There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING(S)

The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:

FIG. 1 is a front view of an undergarment attachable pocket assembly according to an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 2 is a detail view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 4 is an in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 4 thereof, a new pocket assembly embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 4, the undergarment attachable pocket assembly 10 generally comprises a pouch 12, which is configured to be engageable to an article of clothing 14. The pouch 12 has a top 16, which is open and thus configured for insertion of an item, such as a pair of condoms 18. The pouch 12 is sized and shaped complementarily to the pair of condoms 18, which are individually packaged and stacked.

The pouch 12 may be configured to be selectively engageable to an undergarment 20 by reversible means, such as, but not limited to, clips, magnets, and the like, which allow the undergarment attachable pocket assembly 10 to be moved from one undergarment 20 to another. The pouch 12 also may be configured to be fixedly engageable to an undergarment 20 by a variety of means, such as, but not limited to, heat activated adhesives, stitching, and the like, which would permanently affix the undergarment attachable pocket assembly 10 to an undergarment 20.

A back 22 of the pouch 12 proximate to the top 16 may be fixedly engaged to the article of clothing 14, so that the pouch 12 is integral to the article of clothing 14. The back 22 of the pouch 12 also may comprise a section 24 of the article of clothing 14, as shown in FIG. 3, so that the pouch 12 is integral to the article of clothing 14.

A flap 26 is engaged to the pouch 12 proximate to the top 16 and is configured to selectively engage the pouch 12 to reversibly close the top 16 to retain the item in the pouch 12. A first connector 28 is engaged to a front 30 of the pouch 12. A second connector 32 is engaged to the flap 26. The second connector 32 is complementary to the first connector 28 and thus is positioned to selectively engage the first connector 28 to removably secure the flap 26 across the top 16 to retain the item in the pouch 12. The second connector 32 and the first connector 28 may comprise a hook and loop fastener 34, as shown in FIG. 2, or other fastening means, such as, but not limited to, button closures, snap closures, and the like.

A panel 36 is positioned in the pouch 12 to define an inner compartment 38 and an outer compartment 40 within the pouch 12. The panel 36 is engaged to and extends between opposed sides 42 and a bottom 44 of the pouch 12.

A plurality of holes 46 is positioned in the front 30 of the pouch 12. The holes 46 are configured to ventilate the pouch 12. The plurality of holes 46 may comprise three holes 46, as shown in FIG. 2, or other number of holes 46, such as, two holes 46, or four or more holes 46. A plurality of orifices 48 is positioned in the panel 36. The orifices 48 are configured for passage of air between the outer compartment 40 and the inner compartment 38. Each orifice 48 may be substantially aligned with an associated hole 46, as shown in FIG. 3. The ventilation provided by the holes 46 and the orifices 48 helps to maintain condoms 18 in good condition.

A pair of first tabs 50 is engaged to the front 30 of the pouch 12 and is positioned singly proximate to the opposed sides 42 of the pouch 12. A respective one of the first tabs 50 is configured to be grasped between digits of a hand of a user, positioning the user to pull on the respective one of the first tabs 50 to access an item positioned in the outer compartment 40.

A pair of second tabs 52 is engaged to the panel 36 and is positioned singly proximate to the opposed sides 42 of the pouch 12. A respective one of the second tabs 52 is configured to be grasped between the digits of the hand of the user, positioning the user to pull on the respective one of the second tabs 52 to access an item positioned in the inner compartment 38.

In use, the pouch 12 is engaged to an undergarment 20, as shown in FIG. 4. One or two condoms 18 are positioned in the pouch 12, for example, one condom in each of the inner compartment 38 and the outer compartment 40. The flap 26 then is secured over the top 16 of the pouch 12 using the hook and loop fastener 34. The condoms 18 thus are available to the user may be required.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
