Claims
- 1. A storage apparatus for storing and dispensing a plurality of loose copy units comprising:
- a) a plurality of columns of discrete linear conveyors, each conveyor in each column having a first run and a second run, the conveyors in each column being stacked vertically so that a first run of one conveyor faces a second run of a vertically adjacent conveyor, and a cross over conveyor linking each column with an adjacent column, each cross over conveyor having oppositely tapered rollers at opposing ends thereof;
- b) a frame supporting the plurality of columns of discrete linear conveyors;
- c) a diverter arranged at an exit of each conveyor to direct the loose copy units exiting one conveyor to an entrance of a vertically adjacent conveyor for travel in an opposite direction;
- d) whereby adjacent vertically stacked conveyors so that the second run of one conveyor and the first run of an adjacent conveyor bias the loose copy therebetween.
- 2. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein each diverter further comprises a conveyor assembly positioned opposite an exit of each conveyor and an entrance of an adjacent conveyor, a belt of conveyor assembly being adjustable in tension to guide the loose copy units from the exit of one conveyor to the entrance of another vertically adjacent conveyor.
- 3. The apparatus of claim 2, wherein the belt is tensioned by one of a spring and a pair of tension rollers.
- 4. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein one of the conveyors is an input conveyor and another conveyor is a separate output conveyor.
- 5. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein an input conveyor is arranged at a top of the frame.
- 6. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein each run of each conveyor utilizes a plurality of spaced apart bands.
- 7. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein each column has an input conveyor and an output conveyor.
- 8. The apparatus of claim 7, where one conveyor of the at least one column is linked to a drive mechanism and the remaining conveyors in the column are linked to the one driven conveyor.
- 9. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein one conveyor of one column is linked to a drive mechanism and the remaining conveyors in the remaining columns are linked to the one driven conveyor.
- 10. A storage apparatus for storing and dispensing a plurality of loose copy units comprising:
- a) at least one column of discrete linear conveyors, each conveyor in the at least one column having a first run and a second run, the conveyors in the at least one column being stacked vertically so that a first run of one conveyor faces a second run of an adjacent conveyor, each run comprising a plurality of spaced apart bands, and a cross over conveyor linking each column with an adjacent column, each cross over conveyor having oppositely tapered rollers at opposing ends thereof;
- b) a frame supporting the at least one column of discrete linear conveyors; and
- c) a diverter arranged at an exit of each conveyor to direct the loose copy units from the exit of one conveyor to an entrance of a vertically adjacent conveyor for travel in an opposite direction.
- 11. The apparatus of claim 10, wherein each diverter further comprises a conveyor assembly positioned opposite an exit of each conveyor and an entrance of an adjacent conveyor, a belt of conveyor assembly being adjustable in tension to guide the loose copy units that exit one conveyor and enter another vertically adjacent conveyor.
- 12. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein the belt is tensioned by one of a spring and a pair of tension rollers.
- 13. The apparatus of claim 10, wherein one of the conveyors is an input conveyor and another conveyor is a separate, output conveyor.
- 14. The apparatus of claim 10, wherein an input conveyor is arranged at a top of the frame.
- 15. The apparatus of claim 10, wherein each column has an input conveyor and an output conveyor.
- 16. The apparatus of claim 15, where one conveyor of each column is linked to a drive mechanism and the remaining conveyors in the column are linked to the driven conveyor.
- 17. The apparatus of claim 10, wherein one conveyor of one column is linked to a drive mechanism and the remaining conveyors in the remaining columns are linked to the driven conveyor.
- 18. The apparatus of claim 10, wherein a gap-exists between adjacent bands, a width of the gap exceeding the width of each band.
