The object of the invention is universal ice-skate and roller-skate, which is suitable for use both on ice and other flat surface for sport and entertainment activities.
Nowadays sport and free-time activities have gained more and more field, so one of the most favorable sports, roller skate is getting more and more widespread. Price of good quality roller skates is quite high and their special drawback is, that they cannot be used on ice as well. The same refers to ice-skate; they cannot be used outside ice either, so a pair of ice-skates can be used in a limited season of the year, in winter only.
In the state of the art there are several solutions for producing skates, roller skates. Hungarian patent No. P 91 00207 published under No. 61210 dated 28 Dec. 1992 makes known roller skates operating with tread-driven wheels. The sports device made known in it is fixed on the feet, and similarly to the conventional roller skates ensures quite fast, comfortable drive rolling on wheels on a road with solid surface. The essence of it is, that it includes a driven wheel as well, the driving energy of which is ensured by the work of feet treading down the device, placed vertically to its running surface with a foot-holding element, a bottom, which shifts against the power when sinking, and the work is passed to the driven wheel through energy-transferring elements.
A roller-skate-like sports device with special toothed drive is made known in Hungarian patent No. P 96 02496 published on 28 Jan. 1998. The sports device here should be fixed to the legs and it can be used as a roller-skate with side movements, but in accelerated state it can be converted into driven-wheel run while in use. Then after having undone the cut-off by hand or feet guidance, it is possible to move on with the movement of going on steps in a more comfortable way. This time the lower part remains down, the wheels in line run continuously on the ground, whereas the feet go up and down and the special driving structure of the device drives one wheel each through the free-running part. The shoes and the lower part are arranged into a mutual articulated mechanism with four joints through articulated levers. The other part of the invention is the new specially toothed chain drive, which makes possible the transport of energy with an alternating movement under the conditions of limited space to the continuously running wheel.
The deficiency of the roller-skate in the state of the art is, that they are not suitable for using them both on ice and asphalt.
When realizing the solution according to the invention we aimed to produce a roller-skate set, which is suitable due to its construction for use both on ice respectively on other flat surface.
When working out the solution according to the invention we realized, that if a running gear with rollers placed in front and back in wedge form is made, and then the set aim can be achieved. Furthermore we realized, that in case a running gear is made with linear wheels in the front and parallel wheels in the back, then a skate with better maneuvering and running ability could be made.
The invention is a universal skate structure, which has a frame joined directly or indirectly the shoe sole and has a running gear with rollers fixed to the frame, which is characterized by that, it has rollers or discs joining each other on the ground placed in 60-120 angles—preferably 85-90°—connected to the frame preferably by a withdrawal bearing.
In one of the preferred embodiment of the solution according to the invention the rollers or discs are of symmetrical position and the slanting angle of their axle is the same compared with vertical position. In another preferred embodiment of the solution according to the invention the rollers are wheels with plastic or rubber covering. In a further preferred embodiment of the solution according to the invention there is a running edge on the outer flange of the discs made of metal. In another preferred embodiment of the solution according to the invention, in the side plate of the discs around the axle a concentric driving flange protruding from the side plate of the disc is formed.
The invention is further a universal skate structure which has a frame joining directly or indirectly the shoe sole and a running gear with rollers fixed to the frame, which is characterized by that, the running gear with rollers has a front roller and an aide roller placed closely after one another on a bridge in the front part of the skate, furthermore there are back rollers along the same axle placed parallel with each other.
In one of the preferred embodiment of the solution according to the invention the front roller and the aide roller placed on the bridge in the front part of the skate are identical or different sizes. In another preferred embodiment of the solution according to the invention the front bridge furthermore the back carrying block are placed on flexible rubber brackets.
In a further preferred embodiment of the solution according to the invention the front roller and the aide roller as well as the back rollers are wheels provided with plastic or rubber tread. In a further preferred embodiment of the solution according to the invention the structure is formed as a single unit with the shoe sole, in given case it is built in.
The solution according to the invention is set forth by the enclosed figures as follows:
The front roller 17 as well as the roller aide 18 is fixed to the bridge 13 in the known way. Fixing of the back rollers 19 takes place on the carrying block 20 and on the back rubber bracket 23 as well as the back ball joint 22. In case of people of different weight the flexibility of the skate can be adjusted with the help of screw 14. Leg 24 ensures proper stability of the carrying block 20.
The roller-skate set according to the invention has basically two preferable forms. One of them is the form in wedge shape with rollers 7 or discs 8. This case there is rollers 7 or discs 8 slanted to one another on the front and back. Due to resting the rollers 7 or discs 8 is provided with withdrawal bearings 6. Within the rollers 7 or discs 8 there is a ball bearing, which means, that during the use it can be entirely tilted to its side. The rollers 7 or discs 8 touch each other and rest each other in wedge shape and their outer edge touch the ground or ice.
Regarding the definite shape the roller-skate according to the invention has two main versions—with plastic rollers 7 and metal discs 8. The rollers 7 or discs 8 placed in wedge shape are totally fixed, in given angle, they are symmetrically placed to one another and their slanting angle is the same to vertical position, preferably 85-90°. The rollers 7 or discs 8 are fixed to the frame 2 placed under the shoe provided with a stiffener, which is fastened to the sole of the shoe 1, providing the backbone 3 of the sole.
One of the preferable embodiment of the prototype of the roller-skate according to the invention is made of metal and its every element is provided with screws. In case of another preferable application the approved pieces are produced in mass production from plastic by injection molding. The whole frame 2, backbone 3, as well as the front carrying block 4 and back carrying block 5 as well as the carrying block 26 can be injection molded in one piece and the rollers 7 or discs 8 can be added, because apart from rollers 7 or discs 8 nothing is supposed to move. The base construction can be used both in winter and summer, on ice, on asphalt with the exchange of the wheels.
In case of a preferable application a bumper is placed on the front of the frame 2 to protect the front rollers 8. In case of the application with discs 8 made of metal on the outer side of the discs 8 there is a driving flange 10 of concentric circle shape, protruding from the plane of the disc 8 and which is suitable for driving the roller-skate. The discs 8 placed in wedge shape touch one another on the bottom and under the weight of the user tighten to a greater extent.
Another preferable application of the roller skate according to the invention is, when discs 17,18,19 are linear in the front and parallel on the back. The front rollers 17,18 are placed on the bridge 13 with rubber bed, which is necessary to balance the uneven surface. The front bridge 13 and the carrying block 20 fixing the back rollers 19 are held on a flexible rubber bracket 12 which can be adjusted by a screw 21. The same construction can be applied exactly the same way to the skateboard. The material of the rollers 17,18,19 is plastic or rubber. The frame 2 of the construction is the stiffening backbone 3 running under the sole. The flexible rubber bracket 12 located in the pocket 28 is connected to the backbone 3 through the ball joint fixing the bridge 15. Behind the roller 17 in linear setting on the front bridge 13 there is a roller 17 of the same size, or smaller, which does not always reach ground, it rather has a role of resting.
The driving characteristics of the roller-skate of this application according to the invention are particularly favorable, because it is not necessary to keep the ankle, the user can stand on their feet themselves, it is not necessary to lift the feet in use, it can be driven by “pumping”. The rubber bed shaped with the flexible rubber bracket 12 balances, levels the road shocks, the uneven surface of the ground.
The advantage of the roller-skate according to the invention is, that it spares the feet, does not burden them, the user does not get tired, because it is not necessary to keep the ankle tight. At the same time it is possible to do the same things as with the conventional roller-skate. The sole can be built together with the shoe; the wheels are of ordinary plastic or rubber wheels. Driving takes place in the conventional way, with sideway pushing movements. The roller arrangement is also suitable for a skateboard, where the front part is the directing part; the back part is the running one. An additional advantage of the solution according to the invention is, that it is easy to produce, and it can be used both on ice and asphalt with the easy exchange of the rollers.
