Claims
- 1. A system comprising:
a releasable media device; and a hand-held unit comprising:
a microprocessor; a receiver and transmitter connected to the microprocessor to engage in bi-directional communication between the microprocessor and the Internet via an Internet access device; a battery power source; a port at which the releasable media device is positioned; and a contact contacting the releasable media device positioned at the port and providing power from the battery power source to the releasable media device.
- 2. The system of claim 1, wherein the hand-held unit comprises a second contact and receives information from the releasable media device through the second contact and the microprocessor transfers the information to the Internet.
- 3. The system of claim 1, wherein the releasable media device comprises information in a predetermined format comprising a header portion and a data portion, and wherein the hand-held unit comprises memory and the microprocessor loads the data portion into the hand-held unit memory according to the header portion.
- 4. The system of claim 1, wherein the port is a slot and media device is positioned in the slot.
- 5. A system comprising:
a releasable media device comprising information in a predetermined format including a header portion having target indicia and a configuration data portion having configuration data respectively associated with the target indicia; and a hand-held unit comprising:
a microprocessor; a transmitter and receiver for bi-directional communication between the microprocessor and an electronic device; memory connected to the microprocessor; a port at which the releasable media device is positioned; and a contact positioned to contact the releasable media device when the media device is positioned at the port, wherein the microprocessor receives information from the media device through the contact and selectively loads the configuration data portion from the releasable media device into memory according to the header portion of the releasable media device, whereby the hand-held unit is configured.
- 6. The system of claim 5, wherein at least one target indicator of the target indicia corresponds to a purpose associated with the configuration data that is respectively associated with the one target indicator.
