Claims
- 1. A readable media storage device for use in programming a remote control, the storage device comprising:
a nonvolatile memory; electrical contacts for allowing the readable media storage device to be releasably connected to the remote control; at least one device code stored in the memory; and target data stored in the memory and associated with the at least one device code, whereby the remote control may store the at least one device code based upon the target data.
- 2. The readable media device of claim 1, comprising a microprocessor, wherein the electrical contacts are linked to the microprocessor.
- 3. A readable media storage device for use in programming a remote control, the storage device comprising:
a non-volatile memory comprising at least one device code, wherein the non-volatile memory is readable and writable; and electrical contacts for allowing the readable media storage device to be releasably connected to the remote control.
- 4. A readable media storage device for use in programming a remote control, the storage device comprising:
electrical contacts for allowing the readable media storage device to be releasably connected to the remote control; and a non-volatile memory linked to the microprocessor and comprising a library of data for altering the programming of the remote control, wherein the library of data comprises data corresponding to at least two devices that the remote control is adapted to control if the remote control is loaded with the data corresponding to the at least two devices.
- 5. The readable media device of claim 4, comprising a microprocessor, wherein the electrical contacts are linked to the microprocessor.
