- 20. An auxiliary frame as recited in claim 1, wherein each shield has at least one opening to receive a portion of the primary frame when said auxiliary frame is fitted over the primary frame so that at least a side portion of the primary frame is extended out of the auxiliary frame.
- 21. An auxiliary frame as recited in claim 4, wherein the position of the retaining structures is adjustable.
- 22. An auxiliary frame as recited in claim 1, wherein each of the shields has at least a side shield portion and a top shield portion, and wherein a user wearing the frame can see through at least a part of each of the side shield portions.
- 23. An auxiliary frame as recited in claim 1, wherein each of the shields has at least a side shield portion and a top shield portion, and wherein at least a part of each of the side shield portions includes one of an opening, a partially transparent or a clear area through which a user of the frame is able to see by way of peripheral vision.
- 24. An auxiliary frame for fitting over a primary frame, comprising:
a pair of lens holding elements to receive lenses; a pair of non-uniform shields, each of the shields coupling to one of said lens holding elements and restricting light from passing through, and each of the shields having an inner surface that assists with maintaining said auxiliary frame to be fitted over said primary frame; and a resilient structure that is biased to pull the pair of lens holding elements close together such that a separation distance between the pair of lens holding elements is adjustable.
- 25. An auxiliary frame comprising:
two lens retainers coupled to a resilient structure between them so that the distance between the two lens retainers is adjustable; each lens retainer being coupled to a shield; and a plurality of stopping mechanisms, wherein when said auxiliary frame is fitted over a primary frame,
said auxiliary frame is in front of the primary frame, at least a portion of each of the shields extends beyond the primary frame to block direct light from passing through, both of the shields press inward towards the primary frame due to the resilient structure, and the chance of the auxiliary frame from being detached from the primary frame due to the shields pressing inward is reduced by the stopping mechanisms.
- 26. A method for fitting an auxiliary frame to a primary frame, said method comprising:
enlarging a separation distance between the lenses of the auxiliary frame; placing the auxiliary frame over the primary frame such that the primary frame is behind the lenses of the auxiliary frame and the lenses of the primary frame are substantially Within shields of the auxiliary frame but in front of restraining members of the auxiliary frame; and relaxing the separation distance between the lenses of the auxiliary frame so that the auxiliary frame is fitted over the primary frame.
