Claims
- 1. A process for the quantitation of urea in a fluid sample, comprising reacting the sample with a reagent containing an acidic solution of o-phthaladehyde and an acidic solution of a chromogenic compound of the general class of compounds which have the following general structure: ##STR7## where R.sub.1 = -H, --OCH, or --OH and where R.sub.2 = -H, --CH.sub.3 or --C.sub.2 H.sub.5 and
- where X = O or C and
- where n = 1, 2 or 3 and measuring the absorbance of the reacted sample mixture.
- 2. The process as defined in claim 1, in which the chromogenic compound used is 2-N-morpholinoethyl-1-naphthylamine.
