Claims
- 1. A urethane-functional s-triazine crosslinking agent selected from:
- (i) a compound of the formula ##STR32## wherein R.sup.1 is ##STR33## wherein A.sup.1 and A.sup.2 are, independently, straight or branched chain divalent alkylene of from about 2 to about 10 carbon atoms and Q.sup.1 and Q.sup.3 are, independently, straight or branched chain alkyl or alkoxyalkyl of from about 1 to about 20 carbon atoms or straight or branched chain beta-hydroxyalkyl of from about 2 to about 10 carbon atoms; R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are, independently, the same as R.sup.1 and, in addition, Cl, Br, I, OR.sup.4, --NHR.sup.5, --NR.sup.5 R.sup.6, ##STR34## and R.sup.4, R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 are independently, a monovalent and R.sup.7 is a divalent straight or branched chain alkyl radical of from 1 to 30 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl radical of from 3 to 30 carbon atoms, aryl radical of from 6 to 30 carbon atoms, which can contain heteroatoms selected from the group consisting of O, N, S and P, either in the chain or as side substituents and R.sup.8 and R.sup.9 are the same as R.sup.4, R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 and, in addition, hydrogen or when R.sup.7, R.sup.8 and R.sup.9 are taken together, divalent heterocyclic incorporating the nitrogens to which they are attached; and
- (ii) a self-condensed oligomer of (i).
- 2. A triazine compound (i) as defined in claim 1 wherein A.sup.1 and A.sup.2 are C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 alkylene and Q.sup.1 and Q.sup.2 are beta-hydroxyethyl or beta-hydroxypropyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 alkyl.
- 3. A triazine compound (i) as defined in claim 2 wherein Q.sup.1 or Q.sup.2 comprise a mixture of beta-hydroxy-alpha-methylethyl and beta-hydroxy-beta-methylethyl.
- 4. A triazine compound (i) as defined in claim 1 wherein R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are the same as R.sup.1.
- 5. A triazine compound (i) as defined in claim 4 wherein A.sup.1 and A.sup.2 are --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 -- and Q.sup.1 and Q.sup.2 are beta-hydroxyethyl, beta-hydroxypropyl, or a mixture of beta-hydroxypropyl and butyl or octyl.
- 6. A triazine compound (i) as defined in claim 1 wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are the same in which A.sup.1 and A.sup.2 are --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 -- and Q.sup.1 and Q.sup.2 are beta-hydroxyethyl or beta-hydroxypropyl and R.sup.3 is different from R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 wherein A.sup.1 and A.sup.2 are --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 -- and Q.sup.1 and Q.sup.2 are alkyl.
- 7. A triazine (i) as defined in claim 1 wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are the same in which A.sup.1 and A.sup.2 are --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 -- and Q.sup.1 and Q.sup.2 are beta-hydroxyethyl or beta-hydroxypropyl and R.sup.3 is NR.sup.5 R.sup.6 wherein R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 are alkyl.
- 8. An oligomer (ii) of a triazine compound (i) as defined in claim 1 wherein A.sup.1 and A.sup.2 are --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 -- and at least one of Q.sup.1 and Q.sup.2 are beta-hydroxyethyl or beta-hydroxypropyl.
