- 11. The window glass of claim 1, wherein the profiled bead is made of a thermoplastic.
- 12. The window glass of claim 1, wherein the profiled bead is formed by extrusion directly onto the surface of the sheet of glass.
- 13. The window glass of claim 1, further comprising a bead of adhesive at least partially covering the profiled bead, wherein the profiled bead and the bead of adhesive are formed by co-extrusion directly onto the sheet of glass, and at least the bead of adhesive remains plastically deformable and adhesive until the window glass is fitted into the bodywork opening.
- 14. The window glass of claim 1, wherein the profiled bead is manufactured prior to fixation to the sheet of glass.
- 15. The window glass of claim 1, wherein the profiled bead is obtained using an encapsulation technique.
- 16. A window glass, particularly intended to be fixed by adhesive bonding into a bodywork opening and to be disposed flush with the bodywork, comprising a sheet of glass with a profiled bead fixed at least to a main surface of the sheet of glass facing toward an interior of the bodywork after installation and leaving a visible space between the window glass and the bodywork of 5 millimeters or less.
- 17. The window glass of claim 16, further comprising a bead of adhesive, wherein the profiled bead and bead of adhesive together secure the window glass with respect to the bodywork, with the two beads being superposed, partially overlapping, or adjacent to each other.
- 18. The window glass of claim 16, wherein the profiled bead comprises a portion disposed generally perpendicular to a plane defined by the main surface of the window glass to limit lateral expansion of a bead of adhesive.
- 19. The window glass of claim 16, wherein the profiled bead is configured and dimensioned for receiving a bead of adhesive on at least a portion thereof.
- 20. The window glass of claim 19, wherein the profiled bead comprises a slope with respect to a plane defined by the main surface of the window glass proximate a fixation location for the bead.
- 21. The window glass of claim 19, wherein the profiled bead comprises anchoring projections.
- 22. The window glass of claim 16, wherein the profiled bead comprises a lip disposed along at least part of a length thereof, with the lip projecting beyond an edge of the window glass.
- 23. The window glass of claim 22, wherein over at least part of the profiled bead on at least one side of the window glass, the lip has sufficient rigidity to exert a reactive force against the bodywork opening during mounting of said window glass in said opening.
- 24. The window glass of claim 22, wherein the lip extends along at least two sides of the window glass.
- 25. The window glass of claim 16, further comprising a solid wire incorporated into or onto the profiled bead.
- 26. The window glass of claim 25, wherein the solid wire comprises at least two cutting wires incorporated into or onto the profiled bead.
- 27. The window glass of claim 16, further comprising at least one sheath incorporated into or onto the profiled bead.
- 28. The window glass of claim 16, wherein the profiled bead is made of a two-part material.
- 29. The window glass of claim 16, wherein the profiled bead is made of a thermoplastic.
- 30. The window glass of claim 16, wherein the profiled bead is obtained by extrusion directly onto the sheet of glass.
- 31. The window glass of claim 16, wherein the profiled bead and a bead of adhesive are formed by co-extrusion directly onto the sheet of glass, and at least the bead of adhesive remains plastically deformable and adhesive until the window glass is fitted into the bodywork opening.
- 32. The window glass of claim 16, wherein the profiled bead is manufactured prior to fixation to the sheet of glass.
- 33. The window glass of claim 16, wherein the profiled bead is obtained using an encapsulation technique.
- 34. A window for installation in an opening of a vehicle bodywork having an angled step, comprising:
a glass sheet having a main surface and an edge; a profiled bead having a bearing rib and a lip; and an adhesive bead at least partially covering the profiled bead; wherein the profiled bead is fixed to the main surface of the glass sheet and defines a visible space of less than 5 mm between a portion of the angled step oriented transverse to the main surface and the edge of the glass sheet.
- 35. The window of claim 34, wherein a coating is disposed between the main surface of the glass sheet and the profiled bead.
