This application claims priority to and the benefit of Korean Patent Application No. 10-2020-0116520, filed on Sep. 11, 2020, the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference.
The present disclosure relates to an UV sterilization system for a vehicle.
The statements in this section merely provide background information related to the present disclosure and may not constitute prior art.
Some of the belongings of vehicle occupants are contaminated with bacteria, etc.
For example, there are cases where more bacteria or bacteria inhabit the belongings of a vehicle occupant, such as a mobile phone or a vehicle key, than a toilet.
When the belongings of the vehicle or occupant are contaminated with bacteria, the probability of infection with the vehicle occupant is increased through this, and accordingly, contamination can be expanded to a large area.
By using UV, particularly UV-C, more than 99.9% of bacteria can be removed, so a method using UV as a method to sterilize bacteria in a vehicle is being researched.
The above information disclosed in this Background section is only for enhancement of understanding of the background of the disclosure, and therefore it may contain information that does not form the prior art that is already known to a person of ordinary skill in the art.

The drawings described herein are for illustration purposes only and are not intended to limit the scope of the present disclosure in any way.
The following description is merely exemplary in nature and is not intended to limit the present disclosure, application, or uses. It should be understood that throughout the drawings, corresponding reference numerals indicate like or corresponding parts and features.
In the drawings, the thickness of layers, films, panels, regions, etc., are exaggerated for clarity.
When a part such as a layer, film, region, or plate is said to be “on” another part, this includes not only the case directly above the other part, but also the case where there is another part in between.
In contrast, when an element is referred to as being “directly on” another element, there are no intervening elements present.
Throughout the specification, when a part “includes” a certain component, it means that other components may be further included rather than excluding other components unless specifically stated to the contrary.
One form of the present disclosure will hereinafter be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

The UV sterilization system for a vehicle according to one form of the present disclosure further includes a state measurement unit 20 including a switch 22 for ON/OFF operation of the LED module and at least one sensor 24, 26, 28 to be described later. And, according to the output signal of the state measurement unit 20, the controller 10 can control the operation of the LED module 30 and lower LED modules 32, 34, 36 and moving module 40 to be described later.
Referring to
For example, the sterilizing object 60 may be a mobile phone, and the charger 52 is mounted on the sterilization housing 50 to simultaneously charge and sterilize the mobile phone 60.
The charger 52 can be a wired or wireless charger.
The sterilizing object 60 may be a driver's or a passenger's belongings, and may include various types of belongings, such as a vehicle key and a wallet.
The UV sterilization system for a vehicle according to one form of the present disclosure may further include a housing cover 54 covering the sterilization housing 50.
The ultraviolet rays emitted from the LED module 30 can be fatal to the human skin and eyes, and the housing cover 54 inhibits the ultraviolet rays from leaking into the vehicle to protect the driver and occupant.
Referring to
The upper reflector 70 may include a plurality of reflecting plates 72 configured to reflect the ultraviolet rays emitted from the LED module 30 to the sterilizing object 60. The plurality of reflecting plates 72 may be inclined to reflect the direct or reflected ultraviolet rays of the LED module 30 to the sterilization object 60.
The plurality of reflecting plates 72 may include a coating layer 74 of a material including aluminum. The coating layer 74 of a material containing aluminum can effectively reflect UVC (Ultraviolet-C; short-wave ultraviolet rays) to increase the sterilization effect.
Referring to
Like the LED module 30 described above, the lower LED module 80 may include, for example, an LED lamp that emits UV (ultraviolet rays) and a printed circuit board (PCB). The lower LED module 80 can sterilize the lower part of the sterilizing object 60 by emitting ultraviolet rays, particularly the UVC wavelength with excellent sterilization effect.
In addition, the UV sterilization system for a vehicle according to one form of the present disclosure may further include a lower reflector 82 that reflects the ultraviolet rays emitted from the lower LED module 80 to the sterilizing object 60.
