Claims
- 1. A collecting apparatus for use in dermabrasion, comprising:
a housing having a top surface, a bottom surface, and a side surface between the top and bottom surfaces; a suction tube disposed within the housing at a substantially central location within the housing; and a supply tube disposed within the housing for providing an air/reducing substances/abraded tissue mixture into the housing, wherein the supply tube is configured such that the air/reducing substances/abraded tissue mixture is directed along the side surface of the housing.
- 2. The collecting apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the supply tube includes a top, bent portion that is disposed along an axis that is substantially tangential to an outer circumference of the housing.
- 3. The collecting apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the suction tube and the supply tube are provided to within a fixed distance from the top surface of the housing, the fixed distance being such that the supply tube and the suction tube are disposed along an almost entire length of the housing.
- 4. The collecting apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the housing is cylindrical in shape.
- 5. The collecting apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising a filter provided on the suction tube within the housing for keeping the reducing substances/abraded tissue mixture from escaping from the housing.
- 6. The collecting apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising a filter provided external to the housing for keeping the reducing substances/abraded tissue mixture from a vacuum source that provides a suction force through the suction tube.
- 7. A dermabrasion treatment kit, comprising:
a handle for applying dermabrading materials to a patient; a mixing apparatus for providing an air/reducing substances mixture to the handle; and a collecting apparatus for receiving the air/reducing substances mixture from the handle after the air/reducing substances mixture has been applied to the patient; wherein the mixing bottle and the collecting bottle are positioned in a same orientation during dermabrasion treatment of the patient.
- 8. The dermabrasion treatment kit according to claim 7, further comprising a tray for holding the mixing apparatus and the collecting apparatus in place during the dermabrasion treatment of the patient.
- 9. A dermabrasion apparatus, comprising:
a mono-block which comprises a mixing apparatus and a handle, the mixing apparatus providing an air/reducing substances mixture to the handle for application to a patient.
- 10. The dermabrasion apparatus according to claim 9, wherein the mono-block further comprises a collecting apparatus integrally formed with the handle for receiving the air/reducing substances from the handle after the air/reducing substances mixture has been applied to the patient.
- 11. A device for applying an air/reducing substances mixture to a patient, comprising:
a handle; a supply tube connected to the handle for providing the air/reducing substances mixture to the handle; a collection tube connected to the handle for receiving the air/reducing substances mixture from the handle, after the air/reducing substances mixture has been applied to a patient, and for outputting the air/reducing substances mixture to a collecting region; and a holding element configured to hold the supply tube, the collection tube, and the handle in place.
- 12. The device according to claim 11, wherein the holding element is plexiglass.
- 13. The device according to claim 11, wherein the holding element has a first groove for holding the supply tube in place, and a second groove for holding the collection tube in place, and
wherein the handle is held in place at one end of the holding element by virtue of the handle being connected to the supply tube and the collection tube.
- 14. A handpiece for dermabrasion of a patient, comprising:
a supply side that provides an air/reducing substances mixture to a patients skin; an opening for making contact with the patient's skin; and a collecting side for receiving the air/reducing substances mixture and any abraded tissue from the patient after the air/reducing substances mixture has contacted the patient's skin, wherein the supply side is positioned at a different angle with respect to the opening than the collecting side.
- 15. The handpiece according to claim 14, further comprising a venturi positioned in the supply side.
- 16. The handpiece according to claim 14, wherein the supply side is positioned at a first angle with respect to the opening, and the collecting side is positioned at a second angle with respect to the opening, the second angle being greater than the first angle.
- 17. The handpiece according to claim 14, wherein the supply side is positioned at a first angle with respect to the opening, and the collecting side is positioned at an second angle with respect to the opening, the second angle being less than the first angle.
