Claims
- 1. A vacuum pump having a peripheral groove vacuum pump unit, which comprises:
- a casing provided with an inlet port and an outlet port;
- a rotor disposed within the casing and comprising a rotor shaft journaled on the casing and a rotor body fixed to the rotor shaft and provided integrally with a rotor disk;
- a stator fixedly disposed within the casing and provided with an annular groove on an inner circumference of said stator for receiving the peripheral portion of the rotor disk wherein both sides of the peripheral portion of the rotor disk are recessed to form radially extending step portions of substantially uniform thickness which form flow passages and which are substantially planar along the entire surface thereof; and
- a partition which projects from the stator across the flow passages, wherein the starting ends of the flow passages for the stator on the inlet side of the partition communicate with the inlet port and the terminating ends of the flow passages for the stator on the outlet side of the partition communicate with the outlet port and wherein the partition has an opening formed therein through which said rotor rotates and the distance between the surface of the peripheral portion of the rotor disk and the corresponding inner surface of the annular groove of the stator in the flow passages is equal in a radial direction.
- 2. A vacuum pump having a peripheral groove vacuum pump unit, which comprises:
- a casing provided with an inlet port and an outlet port;
- a rotor disposed within the casing and comprising a rotor shaft journaled on the casing, a rotor body fixed to the rotor shaft and provided integrally with a rotor disk having a radially extending step portion on both sides of a peripheral portion of said rotor disk, each said step portion being of substantially uniform thickness and being substantially planar along the entire surface thereof;
- a stator fixedly disposed within the casing and provided with an annular groove on an inner circumference of said stator for receiving the peripheral portion of the rotor disk wherein portions of the side walls of the annular groove corresponding to the peripheral portion of the rotor disk have annular recesses corresponding to said step portions of said rotor disk so as to form flow passages on both sides of the peripheral portion of the rotor disk; and
- at least one partition which extends from the stator across the flow passages, wherein the starting ends of the flow passages for the stator disk on the inlet side of the partition communicate with the inlet port and the terminating ends of the flow passages for the stator disk on the outlet side of the partition communicates with the outlet port and wherein the partition has an opening formed therein through which said rotor disk rotates and the distance between the surface of the peripheral portion of the rotor disk and the corresponding inner surface of the annular groove of the stator in the flow passages is equal in a radial direction.
