1. Field of the invention
This invention relates to a sink counter cover in a bathroom, more particularly, is designed for the purpose of eliminating or minimizing clean-up of excessive water collected on a sink counter.
2. Description of Prior Art
A bathroom sink serves primarily for simple hygienic purposes such as washing face, hands, and tooth brushing. Occasionally it is used for simple task of washing stockings, handkerchiefs, or non-machine washable delicate items. Because how the counter is situated and the sink is never large enough, no matter how careful the user of the sink may be it always collects excessive water on the sink counter.
It is not only unsightly but unsanitary if the excessive water on the counter is left unclean from each use. Most of the time sponge, towel or any absorbent material within a reach is used for a cleaning task.
Especially, bathroom sink counters are wet, messy, and unsightly in the mornings because every body is rushing to get ready for work or schools. It is also a common scene during and after a party that a hostess of a party goes in and out the bathroom to check to tidy up the sink counter in the bathroom.
Amazingly, people in general have tolerated and accepted the task of cleaning-up as a daily ritual. In many instances unsightly wet counters are left ignored for days without properly cleaned and dried.
A U.S. Pat. No. 6,223,362; entitled Water-Absorbing Sink Apron for Bathroom Counters to Liang is a decorative cover for the sink counter. This decorative apron is to be placed on a rubber matted base which is stationary and made of tacky material.
In the prior art, the rubber matted base as it is being stationary for repeated uses and tacky to accommodate the apron, it is a safe haven for bacteria growth because moisture, poor air circulation, and right temperature are perfect environment for unwanted little invisible friends. Moreover, the cleaning up of the rubber matted base can be a chore because its very nature has a tendency to attract and retain dirt and moisture for being tacky. Actually cleaning the sink counter would be an easier task than cleaning and sanitizing the rubber-matted base. This prior art is adding more nasty chore of clean-ups to the users of the sink.
Now, a need has arisen for a new concept of eliminating or minimizing clean-ups for unsightly excessive water collected on the sink counter. It is an object of present invention to provide conveniences for a good house keeping to our modern everyday living; time saving, cost effective, and user friendly.
Therefore, the present invention is completely distinguishable from the patent issued to Liang.
This invention is designed to eliminate or minimize clean-up of excessive water collected on a sink counter by generously covering the sink counter with a good water-absorbing flexible panel. In the preferred invention, the good water-absorbing flexible panel comprising a semi-ovular oncave shape top edge in the shape of the sink wherein an opening is created having the semi-ovular concave shape top edge as a circumference to encircle the sink adequately covering the sink counter.

As shown in the drawings, the vanity mat 2 is comprised of a water-absorbing flexible material, such as, for example, material typically used for towels or disposable synthetic material. Wherein a flexible material is plenary panel with a good water absorbing quality either natural or synthetic material may be suitable for this invention. The preferred water absorbing panel of this invention may be any shape, any design, and any thickness so long as it is large enough to cover an intended area for the inventive purpose without obstructing the sink for use.

These end points 10 and 11 are separated by predetermined distant having to create a free top edge 12 for the ovular shape opening. An ovular shape opening 9 in the shape of sink having the semi-ovular concave shape top edge 8 as a circumference is designed to accommodate the sink free of obstruction. The ovular shape opening has a top free edge as a result of separation of left and right end points 10 and 11 to accommodate the sink fixtures.
The left end point 10 is a starting point of top left longitudinal edge 3. The right end point 11 is a starting point of top right longitudinal edge 4.
The length of a top left longitudinal edge 3 is predetermined in accordance with the area of the left side sink counter to be adequately covered. The top left longitudinal edge 3 is continuously and directly connected to the left vertical edge 5.
The length of a top right longitudinal edge 4 is predetermined in accordance with the area of the right side sink counter to be adequately covered. The top right longitudinal edge 4 is continuously and directly connected to the right vertical edge 6.
The bottom longitudinal edge 7 substantially meets the lower edge of the sink counter.
