Claims
- 1. A vapor catalyst system for fossil fuel combustion apparatus, and comprising:
- (a) a closed container of liquid constituted at least partially of water;
- (b) an air pump having a pressure side and a suction side;
- (c) a first connection from the pressure side of said pump to below the liquid surface in said container;
- (d) a second connection from the suction side of said pump directly to said container at a location above the liquid surface in said container to produce continuously circulating air flow between said pump and said container passing through said liquid;
- (e) a third connection to the suction side of said pump from ambient air,
- (f) means to exhaust at least some recirculating air to said combustion apparatus while replacing said recirculating air with ambient air, said recirculating air exhausting means including a direct connection from the intake of said combustion apparatus to said container at a point above the liquid surface; and,
- (g) means for maintaining the flow of recirculating air above the liquid surface at a higher flow rate as compared to the air exhausted to said combustion apparatus.
- 2. A vapor catalyst system, and comprising:
- (a) a container for holding water-including liquid;
- (b) an air pump having a pressure side and a suction side;
- (c) a first connection from the pressure side of said pump to below the surface in said container;
- (d) a second connection from the suction side of said pump to said container at a location above the liquid surface in said container for producing a continuously circulating air flow between said pump and said container passing through said liquid;
- (e) a third connection to the suction side of said pump from ambient air; and
- (f) means to exhaust at least some recirculating air while replacing said recirculating air with ambient air, said exhausting means including an air filtration means disposed between said second connection and said third connection.
- 3. An apparatus according to claim 2, wherein said means to exhaust also comprises at least one control valve for regulating circulating air flow.
- 4. An apparatus according to claim 3, wherein at least one of said first and second connections comprises a second conduit having another control valve, said control valves being adjustable whereby to regulate circulating air flow between said pump and said container relative to flow through said exhausting means.
- 5. An apparatus according to claim 2, wherein said second connection comprises a perforated conduit in said container.
- 6. An apparatus according to claim 5, wherein said second connection also comprises a non-perforated conduit in said container extending from the suction side of said pump.
- 7. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said second connection comprises a perforated conduit in said container.
- 8. An apparatus according to claim 7, wherein said second connection also comprises a non-perforated conduit in said container extending from the suction side of said pump.
- 9. An apparatus according to claim 7, wherein said perforated conduit extends from the bottom to the top of said container.
- 10. An apparatus according to claim 9, wherein said second connection also comprises a non-perforated conduit extending from the top of said container to the suction side of said pump.
- 11. An apparatus according to claim 2 wherein said third connection to the suction side of said pump from ambient air includes a connection to said air filtration means.
