Claims
- 1. A heat pipe comprising:
- a sealed casing;
- capillary wick means located adjacent to the inside surface of the casing;
- vaporizable heat transfer fluid within the sealed casing; and
- at least one artery located within and surrounded by the capillary wick means, the artery constructed of walls of porous material which has a finer pore structure than the pore structure of the capillary wick means.
- 2. The heat pipe of claim 1 wherein the artery includes at least one opening within a porous wall, the opening being oriented so that it is in a surface of the artery which is remote from a heat source applied to the heat pipe.
