The disclosure and prior art relates to holding devices and more particularly pertains to a new holding device for inhibiting a smoking device from rolling on a table.
An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a base that may be positioned on a support surface. A pair of supports is each coupled to and extends upwardly from the base. A smoking device is selectively positioned in each of the supports. Thus, each of the supports restrains the smoking device to inhibit the smoking device from rolling on the support surface.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
A plurality of pads 22 is provided and each of the pads 22 is coupled to the base 12. Each of the pads 22 abuts the support surface 14 and each of the pads 22 is comprised of a resiliently compressible material. Thus, each of the pads 22 frictionally engages the support surface 14 thereby inhibiting the base 12 from sliding on the support surface 14. Each of the pads 22 may be aligned with an associated one of four corners of the base 12 and each of the pads is positioned on the second surface 18.
A pair of supports 24 is provided and each of the supports 24 is coupled to and extends upwardly from the base 12. A smoking device 26, such as an electronic vaporizer or the like, is selectively positioned in each of the supports 24. Each of the supports 24 restrains the smoking device 26 to inhibit the smoking device 26 from rolling on the support surface 14. The pair of supports 24 includes a first support 28 and a second support 30.
Each of the supports 24 comprises a grip 32 that has a first end 34, a second end 36 and an outer surface 38 extending therebetween. The grip 32 is curved between the first end 34 and the second end 36 such that the first end 34 is spaced from the second end 36 to define a slot 40 in the grip 32. The slot 40 receives the smoking device 26. The outer surface 38 has a first side 42, a second side 44 and a third side 46. The second side 44 defines a bounding surface 48 of the slot 40.
The smoking device 26 is retained at an angle with the smoking device 26 is positioned in the slot 40. The second side 44 slopes at an acute angle between the first side 42 and the third side 46. In this way second side 44 conforms to the angle of repose with respect to the smoking device 26. The third side 46 corresponding to the first support 28 has a lip 50 extending beyond the second side 44 corresponding to the first support 28. The lip 50 abuts an end of the smoking device 26 thereby inhibiting the smoking device 26 from sliding through the first support 28.
A stem 52 extends downwardly from the outer surface 38 of the grip 32 and the stem 52 has a distal end 54 with respect to the grip 32. The distal end 54 is coupled to the first surface 16 of the base 12 having the grip 32 being spaced from the first surface 16. Each of the supports 24 is spaced apart from each other having the slot 40 in each of the supports 24 being aligned with each other. The stem 52 corresponding to the second support 30 has a length that is greater than a length of the stem 52 corresponding to the first support 28. Thus, each of the first 28 and second 30 supports retains the smoking device 26 at the angle of repose when the smoking device 26 is positioned on each of the supports 24.
In an alternative embodiment 56 as shown in
In use, the base 12 is positioned on the support surface 14 and the smoking device 26 is selectively positioned in each of the supports 24. Thus, the smoking device 26 is inhibited from rolling off of the support surface 14 and possibly being damaged. The smoking device 26 is retained at the angle of repose when the smoking device 26 is positioned in each of the supports 24. The smoking device 26 is gripped and removed from the supports 24 when the smoking device 26 is employed.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
