Claims
- 1. A vehicle clutch control device comprising:
a clutch actuator unit for engaging and disengaging a friction clutch; and a prohibition control unit for prohibiting the clutch actuator unit from engaging the clutch when a vehicle speed is zero and a start gear has been selected, but a rotational speed of an engine is higher than a predetermined speed.
- 2. The vehicle clutch control device of claim 1, wherein the prohibition control unit also causes the engine rotational speed to drop below the predetermined speed when it prohibits the clutch actuator unit from engaging the clutch.
- 3. The vehicle clutch control device of claim 2, wherein the prohibition control unit allows the clutch actuator unit to engage the clutch when the engine rotational speed drops below the predetermined speed.
- 4. The vehicle clutch control device of claim 2, wherein the prohibition control unit holds an accelerator opening of the engine to a predetermined value until the engine rotational speed drops below the predetermined speed.
- 5. The vehicle clutch control device of claim 1, wherein the prohibition control unit holds an accelerator opening of the engine to a predetermined value for a prescribed period after it prohibits the clutch actuator unit from engaging the clutch.
- 6. The vehicle clutch control device of claim 5, wherein the prohibition control unit allows the clutch actuator unit to engage the clutch after the prescribed period regardless of the engine rotational speed.
- 7. The vehicle clutch control device of claim 1, wherein the predetermined speed is about 700 rpm.
- 8. The vehicle clutch control device of claim 5, wherein the prescribed period is about 5 seconds.
- 9. The vehicle clutch control device of claim 4, wherein the prescribed value is 0%.
- 10. The vehicle clutch control device of claim 5, wherein the prescribed value is 0%.
- 11. The vehicle clutch control device of claim 9, wherein the prohibition control unit causes the clutch actuator unit to completely disengage the clutch when the accelerator opening of the engine is 0%.
- 12. An apparatus comprising:
clutch means for engaging and disengaging a friction clutch; and control means for prohibiting the clutch means from engaging the clutch when a vehicle speed is zero and a start gear has been selected, but a rotational speed of an engine is higher than a predetermined speed.
- 13. The apparatus of claim 12, wherein the control means causes the engine rotational speed to drop below the predetermined speed when it prohibits the clutch means from engaging the clutch.
- 14. The apparatus of claim 13, wherein the control means allows the clutch means to engage the clutch when the engine rotational speed drops below the predetermined speed.
- 15. The apparatus of claim 13, wherein the control means holds an accelerator opening of the engine to 0% until the engine rotational speed drops below the predetermined speed.
- 16. The apparatus of claim 12, wherein the control means holds an accelerator opening of the engine to 0% for a prescribed period after it prohibits the clutch actuator unit from engaging the clutch.
- 17. The apparatus of claim 16, wherein the control means allows the clutch means to engage the clutch after the prescribed period regardless of the engine rotational speed.
- 18. The apparatus of claim 12, wherein the predetermined speed is about 700 rpm.
- 19. The apparatus of claim 15, wherein the control means causes the clutch means to completely disengage the clutch when the accelerator opening of the engine is 0%.
- 20. The apparatus of claim 16, wherein the prescribed period is about 5 seconds.
