- means for closing said door to compact only a portion of the vehicle;
- opening means actuable in response to the completion of compaction for opening said door;
- advancing means actuable in response to the termination of the opening of said door for advancing the vehicle a distance through said compactor; and
- cycle means for repeating actuation of the closing means to automatically compact additional portions of the vehicle.
- 2. The control system described in claim 1 further including means to prevent closing of said door during actuation of said advancing means.
- 3. The control system of claim 1 further including means to prevent actuation of said advancing means during the opening and closing of said door.
- 4. The control system described in claim 1 further including indicator means for providing a compacting cycle indication during said opening and closing off said doors.
- 5. The control system described in claim 1 further including indicator means for providing an advance cycle indication during actuation of said advancing means.
- 6. The device described in claim 1 wherein said compactor has a frame, and a pair of doors which pivotally close toward said frame to compact a vehicle thereagainst and pivotally open away therefrom, said closing and opening means opening and closing said doors simultaneously.
- 7. The device described in claim 1 further including sensing means for sensing the end of the vehicle being compacted to terminate operation of said cycle means.
- 8. The device described in claim 7 wherein the cycle means actuates said closing and opening means to compact the last segment of the vehicle subsequent to terminating operation of said advance means.
- 9. An automatic control system for a vehicle compactor having at least one door operable to compact a vehicle fed into the compactor, comprising:
- means for closing said door during a first time period;
- means actuable in response to the expiration of said first time period for opening said door during a second time period;
- means actuable in response to the termination of said second time period for advancing the vehicle to be compacted through said compactor during a third time period; and
- reset means actuable in response to the termination of said third time period for actuating said closing means.
- 10. The control system of claim 9 further including means to prevent actutation of said closing and opening means during said third time period.
- 11. The control system of claim 9 further including means to prevent actuation of said advancing means during said first and second time periods.
- 12. The control system of claim 9 further including means for providing a compacting cycle indication during said first and second time period.
- 13. The control system of claim 9 further including means for providing an advance cycle indication during said third time period.
- 14. The automatic sequence control system of claim 9 wherein the vehicle compactor has two doors and said closing and opening means operate each of said doors simultaneously.
