Claims
- 1. A mounting assembly for attachment and removal from a vehicle, comprising:a hitch member and a frame for releasable connection to a mount attached to a vehicle, said hitch member being pivotably coupled to said frame for relative movement with respect to said frame, said hitch member comprising at least one extension having a free end tapering toward a vehicle when said hitch member is positioned to mount to the vehicle; said mount adapted to be coupled to a vehicle, said mount comprising at least one receiver for releasably receiving said at least one extension, said at least one receiver defining a trapezoidal wedge; whereby said at least one receiver is configured to align said hitch member with respect to said vehicle upon receiving said at least one extension in said trapezoidal wedge.
- 2. The mounting assembly of claim 1, wherein there at least two extensions and at least two receivers.
- 3. The mounting assembly of claim 2, wherein said at least two extensions taper towards each other in a direction away from said lift assembly.
- 4. The mounting assembly of of claim 2, wherein said two receivers taper such that the distance between them decreases in the direction towards the vehicle rear, and wherein the height of said two receivers tapers such that it is progressively lower in the direction towards the vehicle rear.
- 5. The mounting assembly of claim 1, further comprising a snowplow blade adapted to be lifted by said lift assembly.
- 6. The mounting assembly of claim 1, further comprising at least one latch for securing said lift assembly and frame to said mount.
- 7. The mounting assembly of claim 6, wherein there are at least two latches.
- 8. The mounting assembly of claim 6, wherein said at least one latch is pivotable with respect to said lift assembly.
- 9. The mounting assembly of claim 1, wherein said frame is an A-frame.
- 10. A mounting assembly for attachment and removal from a vehicle, comprising:a frame for releasable connection to a mount attached to a vehicle, and a hitch member coupled to said frame, said frame supporting a working implement, said hitch member having at least one free end pivotable with respect to said frame and tapering toward a vehicle when said hitch member is positioned to mount to the vehicle; said mount adapted to be coupled to a vehicle, said mount comprising at least one receiver for releasably receiving said at least one free end of said hitch member, said at least one receiver defining a trapezoidal wedge; at least one latch on said assembly adapted to releasably engage at least one bar on said vehicle; whereby said at least one receiver is configured to align said hitch member with respect to said vehicle upon receiving said free end in said trapezoidal wedge.
- 11. The mounting assembly of claim 10, wherein said latch is positioned so as to engage said bar only after said trapezoidal wedge receives said free end of said hitch member.
