Claims
- 59. A window assembly module for a vehicle, said window assembly module comprising:
at least one fixed window panel having an inner surface and an outer surface; a movable window panel having an inner surface and an outer surface; a frame configured to secure to the vehicle, said inner surface of said at least one fixed window panel being secured to said frame, said movable window panel being movable relative to said frame, said frame including a dividing portion separating said at least one fixed window panel and said movable window panel; and a resilient seal secured around at least a portion of said frame for sealing at least one of said movable window panel and said at least one fixed window panel relative to said frame, said resilient seal being secured to said frame via integral molding.
- 60. The window assembly module of claim 59, wherein said frame includes a perimeter frame and said dividing portion of said frame comprises at least one separating member, said inner surface of said at least one fixed window panel being secured to a portion of said perimeter frame and to said at least one separating member, said movable window panel being slidable relative to said at least one separating member.
- 61. The window assembly module of claim 60, wherein said perimeter frame includes opposing perimeter legs, said at least one separating member being positioned between said opposing perimeter legs.
- 62. The window assembly module of claim 60 further including at least one guide member secured to at least one perimeter edge of said movable window panel, said at least one guide member being slidably engagable with said at least one separating member.
- 63. The window assembly module of claim 62 further including a slidable seal secured to said at least one guide member for slidably engaging said at least one separating member.
- 64. The window assembly module of claim 62, wherein said resilient seal includes a slidable seal integrally molded to said at least one separating member for slidably engaging said at least one guide member.
- 65. The window assembly module of claim 62, wherein one of said at least one guide member and said at least one separating member comprises a channel and the other of said at least one guide member and said at least one separating member comprises an elongated extension, said channel slidably receiving said elongated extension therewithin.
- 66. The window assembly module of claim 60, wherein said resilient seal includes a slidable seal along said at least one separating member for slidably engaging a respective edge portion of said movable window panel.
- 67. The window assembly module of claim 59, wherein said frame is unitarily molded and comprises differing cross sectional forms at different portions of said frame.
- 68. The window assembly module of claim 67, wherein said resilient seal comprises differing cross sectional forms at different portions of said frame.
- 69. The window assembly module of claim 59, wherein said resilient seal comprises differing cross sectional forms at different portions of said frame.
- 70. The window assembly module of claim 69, wherein said frame comprises opposing perimeter legs and an upper portion extending between said opposing perimeter legs, said dividing portion extending downward from said upper portion.
- 71. The window assembly module of claim 70, wherein said resilient seal comprises a sliding seal portion along at least one of said dividing portion and one of said perimeter legs for sliding engagement with said inner surface of said movable window panel.
- 72. The window assembly module of claim 71, wherein said resilient seal comprises a compressible seal portion along said upper portion of said frame for engagement with an upper edge of said movable window panel when said movable window panel is closed.
- 73. The window assembly module of claim 59, wherein said frame comprises a rigid plastic material.
- 74. The window assembly module of claim 73, wherein said frame comprises one of polyethylene terephthalate, nylon, acrylonitrile-butadeine-styrene and thermoplastic urethane.
- 75. The window assembly module of claim 59, wherein said window assembly module is adapted for installation at a side of the vehicle.
- 76. The window assembly module of claim 59, wherein said window assembly module is adapted for use as a vertical sliding rear window for the vehicle.
- 77. The window assembly module of claim 59, wherein said dividing portion of said frame is adapted to maintain said outer surface of said movable window panel generally flush with said outer surface of said at least one fixed window panel as said movable window panel is moved relative to said frame.
- 78. A rear window assembly module for a rear portion of a vehicle, said rear window assembly module comprising:
a pair of fixed window panels, each of said pair of fixed window panels having an inner surface and an outer surface; a movable window panel having an inner surface and an outer surface; a frame configured to secure to the vehicle, said frame including a perimeter frame having opposite legs and an upper portion extending between said opposite legs, said frame including a pair of separating members extending downward from said upper portion and between said opposite legs of said frame, each of said pair of fixed window panels being secured to respective ones of said legs and said separating members, said movable window panel being slidable along and between said pair of separating members; and a resilient seal secured around at least a portion of said frame for sealing at least one of said movable window panel and said fixed window panels relative to said frame, said resilient seal being secured to said frame via integral molding.
- 79. The rear window assembly module of claim 78, wherein said rear window assembly module comprises a powered sliding mechanism for raising and lowering said movable window panel relative to said frame.
- 80. The rear window assembly module of claim 78 further including a guide member secured to said inner surface along each of a pair of opposing perimeter edges of said movable window panel, said guide members being slidably engagable with said pair of separating members.
- 81. The rear window assembly module of claim 80 further including a slidable seal secured to a respective one of said guide members for slidably engaging a respective one of said separating members.
- 82. The rear window assembly module of claim 80, wherein said resilient seal includes a slidable seal portion along said separating members for slidably engaging respective ones of said guide members.
- 83. The rear window assembly module of claim 80, wherein each of said guide members comprises a channel and each of said separating members comprises an elongated extension, said channels slidably receiving said elongated extensions therewithin.
- 84. The rear window assembly module of claim 80, wherein each of said separating members comprises a channel and each of said guide members comprises an elongated extension, said channels slidably receiving said elongated extensions therewithin.
- 85. The rear window assembly module of claim 78, wherein said resilient seal comprises differing cross sectional forms.
- 86. The rear window assembly module of claim 85, wherein said opposed legs, said upper portion and said separating members of said frame are unitarily molded and comprise different cross sectional forms.
- 87. The rear window assembly module of claim 85, wherein said resilient seal comprises a compressible portion along said upper portion of said frame for sealing an upper edge of said movable window panel relative to said upper portion when said movable window panel is closed.
- 88. The rear window assembly module of claim 87, wherein said resilient seal comprises a sliding portion along said separating members for sliding engagement with opposite side edge portions of said movable window panel.
- 89. The rear window assembly module of claim 78, wherein said frame comprises a rigid plastic material.
- 90. The rear window assembly module of claim 89, wherein said frame comprises one of polyethylene terephthalate, nylon, acrylonitrile-butadeine-styrene and thermoplastic urethane.
- 91. The rear window assembly module of claim 78, wherein said separating members of said frame are adapted to maintain said outer surface of said movable window panel generally flush with said outer surfaces of said pair of fixed window panels as said movable window panel is moved relative to said frame.
- 92. A window assembly module for a side of a vehicle, said window assembly module comprising:
a fixed window panel having an inner surface and an outer surface; a movable window panel having an inner surface and an outer surface; a frame configured to secure to the vehicle, said frame including opposite perimeter legs and an upper portion extending between said opposite perimeter legs, said frame including a separating member extending downward from said upper portion, said inner surface of said fixed window panel being secured to one of said opposite perimeter legs and to said separating member, said movable window panel being slidable relative to said separating member and the other of said opposite perimeter legs; and a resilient seal secured around at least a portion of said frame for sealing at least one of said movable window panel and said fixed window panel relative to said frame, said resilient seal being secured to said frame via integral molding.
- 93. The window assembly module of claim 92 further including a guide member secured to a perimeter edge of said movable window panel, said guide member being slidably engagable with said separating member.
- 94. The window assembly module of claim 93 further including a slidable seal secured to said guide member for slidably engaging said separating member.
- 95. The window assembly module of claim 93, wherein one of said guide member and said separating member comprises a channel and the other of said guide member and said separating member comprises an elongated extension, said channel slidably receiving said elongated extension therewithin.
- 96. The window assembly module of claim 92, wherein said resilient seal comprises a slidable seal portion along said separating member for slidably engaging a respective perimeter edge portion of said movable window panel.
- 97. The window assembly module of claim 92, wherein said resilient seal comprises differing cross sectional forms along different portions of said frame.
- 98. The window assembly module of claim 97, wherein said opposite legs, said upper portion and said separating member of said frame are unitarily molded and comprise different cross sectional forms.
- 99. The window assembly module of claim 97, wherein said resilient seal comprises a compressible portion along said upper portion of said frame for sealing an upper edge of said movable window panel relative to said upper portion of said frame when said movable window panel is closed.
- 100. The window assembly module of claim 99, wherein said resilient seal comprises a sliding portion along said other of said opposite legs for sliding engagement with a respective side edge portion of said movable window panel.
- 101. The window assembly module of claim 100, wherein said resilient seal comprises a second sliding portion along said separating member for sliding engagement with a respective side edge portion of said movable window panel.
- 102. The window assembly module of claim 92, wherein said frame comprises a rigid plastic material.
- 103. The window assembly module of claim 102, wherein said frame comprises one of polyethylene terephthalate, nylon, acrylonitrile-butadeine-styrene and thermoplastic urethane.
- 104. The window assembly module of claim 92, wherein said separating member is adapted to maintain said outer surface of said movable window panel generally flush with said outer surface of said fixed window panel as said movable window panel is moved relative to said frame.
