Abstract
A ventilating hairbrush includes a head body; a handle attached to the head body; and a plurality of bristles extending outwardly from the head body. The head body and the handle are formed integrally. The head body is cylindrical, elongated and includes a groove lengthwise disposed on a surface; and a plurality of spaced holes lengthwise disposed on the surface. The bristles are fastened in the holes.
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
1. Field of the Invention

The invention relates to hairbrushes that are utilized to brush, curl and style a person's hair and more particularly to a ventilating hairbrush having improved characteristics.


2. Description of Related Art

People have used hairbrushes to brush, curl and style hair. A conventional hairbrush comprises a brush head and a handle attached to the brush head. The brush head includes a head body and a plurality of bristles that extend outwardly from the head body.


Typically, the head body is solid. For quickly brushing, curling and/or styling the hair, a person may additionally use a blow dryer. This is because there are no ventilating hairbrushes commercially available as the present inventor is aware.


Thus, the need for ventilating hairbrushes exists.


SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

It is therefore one object of the invention to provide a ventilating hairbrush for quickly brushing, curling and/or styling the hair.


For achieving above and other objects, a first aspect of the invention provides a ventilating hairbrush, comprising a head body; a handle attached to the head body; and a plurality of bristles extending outwardly from the head body; wherein the head body and the handle are formed integrally; wherein the head body is cylindrical, elongated and includes a groove lengthwise disposed on a surface; and a plurality of spaced holes lengthwise disposed on the surface; and wherein the bristles are fastened in the holes.


Preferably, the groove is spirally, lengthwise disposed on the surface and the holes are spirally, lengthwise disposed on the surface.


Preferably, wherein the number of the groove is more than one and the plural grooves are concentrically, lengthwise disposed on the surface; the holes are concentrically, lengthwise disposed on the surface; and the holes are disposed between two adjacent ones of the grooves.


Preferably, the bristles are made of natural material, metal and/or thermoplastic.


Preferably, the groove is chamfered or has a rectangular or triangular longitudinal section.


For achieving above and other objects, a second aspect of the invention provides a ventilating hairbrush, comprising a head body including a groove on a surface; a handle attached to the head body; and a plurality of bristles extending outwardly from the groove of the head body; wherein the head body further comprises a decoration member on the surface and spaced from the groove.


Preferably, the groove is chamfered or has a rectangular or triangular longitudinal section.


Preferably, the groove is diagonally, transversely, vertically, or wavily disposed on the surface of the head body.


Preferably, the groove includes a plurality of hole members.


Preferably, the groove includes a plurality of hole members.


Preferably, the decoration member is made of metal, a liquid absorbing material, a material capable of destroying or deactivating organisms, a slip-resistant material, an aromatic material, or a conductive material.


Preferably, the head body further comprises a cavity on the surface with the decoration member disposed therein.


Preferably, the decoration member includes a plurality of hole elements.


For achieving above and other objects, a third aspect of the invention provides a ventilating hairbrush, comprising a head body including a plurality of grooves on a surface; a handle attached to the head body; and a plurality of bristles extending outwardly from the grooves of the head body; wherein the head body further comprises a plurality of decoration members on the surface and spaced from the grooves.


Preferably, each groove is chamfered or has a rectangular or triangular longitudinal section.


Preferably, each groove is diagonally, transversely, vertically, or wavily disposed on the surface of the head body.


Preferably, each groove includes a plurality of hole members.


Preferably, each groove includes a plurality of hole elements.


Preferably, each decoration member is made of metal, a liquid absorbing material, a material capable of destroying or deactivating organisms, a slip-resistant material, an aromatic material, or a conductive material.


Preferably, the head body further comprises a plurality of cavities on the surface with the decoration members disposed therein respectively.


Preferably, the decoration member includes a plurality of hole elements.


The invention has the following advantages and benefits in comparison with the conventional art: With the lengthwise arranged grooves on the surface of the head body, either alone or in conjunction with a blow dryer, the grooves guide air to prolong a contact time with the hair so that the hair can be quickly brushed, curled and styled.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring to FIGS. 1 to 6, a ventilating hairbrush 100 in accordance with a first preferred embodiment of the invention comprises a head body 1, a handle 2 and a plurality of bristles 3 extending outwardly from the head body 1 as discussed in detail below.


The head body 1 and the handle 2 are formed integrally and aligned lengthwise. The head body 1 is cylindrical, elongated and includes a groove 11 spirally, lengthwise disposed on a surface. The groove 11 facilitates ventilation in brushing hair and thus the wind may prolong contact with the hair, the air flow may be concentrated, and the hair may be quickly dried and styled. The head body 1 further comprises a plurality of spaced holes 12 also spirally, lengthwise disposed on the surface. Thus, the head body 1 is aesthetic. The bristles 3 are fastened in the holes 12 and are adapted to brush, curl and style the hair.


As shown in FIGS. 1 to 4 specifically, the bristles 3 brush the hair when the ventilating hairbrush 100 is used. Additionally, a blower dryer is activated to blow hot air along the spiral groove 11 to prolong the time of the air flow contacting the hair, the air flow may be concentrated, and the hair may be quickly dried and styled. Alternatively, the number of the groove 11 is more than one and the plural grooves 11 are provided concentrically, lengthwise on the surface of the head body 1. The holes 12 are provided concentrically, lengthwise on the surface of the head body 1 and the holes 12 of the same elevation are disposed between two adjacent grooves 11.


As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 specifically, the bristle 3 includes a plurality of stiffed filaments 32 and a plurality of brushes 31 around the filaments 32 in which the length of the filaments 32 is greater than that of the brush 31. The filaments 32 can rub the skin of the head before the brushes 31 contact the hair. Preferably, the filament 32 has a spherical end 321 which does not hurt the skin of the head when brushing. The bristles 3 are made of nylon and pig bristles. In other embodiments the bristles 3 are made of nylon, pig bristles, natural material, metal and/or thermoplastic. Alternatively, the bristle 3 includes a plurality of stiffed filaments 32 or a plurality of brushes 31 around the filaments 32.


As shown in FIGS. 4 and 6 specifically, the groove 11 has a triangular longitudinal section. In other embodiments, the groove 11 is chamfered or has a rectangular or triangular longitudinal section. The groove 11 can concentrate air flow toward inside of the head body 1, thereby shortening the time of drying the hair. It is understood that the groove 11, having a triangular longitudinal section, being chamfered, or having a rectangular longitudinal section can make the air flow uniform.


As shown in FIGS. 1 and 4 specifically, the diameter of the handle 2 increases and then decreases to an end (i.e., being conic). A person holds the ergonomic handle 2 may feel a degree of comfort. Preferably, the end of the handle 2 is formed as a cone 21 having a chamfered end 211. The cone 21 can divide the hair into different lines or pick some hair in use. Further, the chamfered end 211 does not hurt the skin of the head in use.


As shown in FIGS. 4 and 6 specifically, the head body 1 further comprises a hollow 13 in an opening 14 at an end distal the handle 2.


Referring to FIG. 7, a ventilating hairbrush in accordance with a second preferred embodiment of the invention is shown. The characteristics of the ventilating hairbrush are that the hollow is eliminated and the head body 1 is smaller than that of the first preferred embodiment.


Referring to FIGS. 8 to 10A, a ventilating hairbrush 100A in accordance with a third preferred embodiment of the invention is shown. The characteristics of the third preferred embodiment are substantially the same as that of the first preferred embodiment except the following: An elongated, spiral decoration member 4A is provided on the head body 1A and spaced from the groove 11A (see FIGS. 9 and 9A). A spiral cavity 15A is provided on the head body 1A with the decoration member 4A disposed therein (see FIG. 9A). The decoration member 4A includes a plurality of holes 41A. After installing the decoration member 4A in the cavity 15A, the bristles 3 are fastened in the holes 12 (see FIGS. 10 and 10A). While, as shown in FIG. 9A, the cavity 15A is disposed along the holes 12 on the head body 1A, other arrangements are also possible. While, as shown in FIG. 9A, the decoration member 4A having the plurality of holes 41A provided for the bristles 3 passing through to fasten the holes 12, the holes 41A can be eliminated if there are no bristles 3.


As shown in FIGS. 10 and 10A, the decoration member 4A is mounted in the cavity 15A with the bases of the brushes 31 of the bristles 3 mounted therein. In brushing, the hair contacts the decoration member 4A. The decoration member 4A can be made of one of many different materials as detailed below.


The decoration member 4A is made of metal for the prevention of static electricity accumulation so that the hair can be prevented from forming fluff in brushing. The decoration member 4A is made of liquid absorbing material such as cotton, fabric, high-temperature resistant fiber, ceramic fiber, silicon dioxide, highly flexible fiber, polyamide, water woven fabric, EVA, thermoplastic resin, or silicon rubber strip for absorbing applied conditioner, hair lotion, essential oil, or maintenance lotion in which the essential oil is made of mineral oil or plant-based essential oil capable of protecting the hair.


The decoration member 4A is made of conductive material such as tin, aluminum, titanium, copper, silver, gold, iron, tungsten alloy or alloy ceramic coating, added with conductive substance such as graphite, graphene, thermally conductive silica gel, carbon fiber, germanium powder so that the hair can be styled while being brushed.


The decoration member 4A is made of material capable of destroying or deactivating organisms such as nano-silver, nano-copper, nano-zinc, titanium, or germanium for keeping cleanness of both the hairbrush and the hair in use.


The decoration member 4A is made of conductive material such as condensing member for suddenly cooling the hair and keeping hair smooth.


The decoration member 4A is made of slip-resistant material such as silicon plastic strip.


The decoration member 4A is made of aromatic material.


The decoration member 4A is secured to the head body 1A by screws or adhesive.


The bristles are omitted in the following embodiments for only describing the head body.


Referring to FIG. 11, a ventilating hairbrush 100B in accordance with a fourth preferred embodiment of the invention is shown. The characteristics of the fourth preferred embodiment are substantially the same as that of the third preferred embodiment except the following: A plurality of grooves 11B and a plurality of decoration members 4B are provided on the head body 1B. The grooves 11B are concentric and arranged lengthwise. The groove 11B includes a plurality of holes 111B into the head body 1B. The groove 11A is chamfered or has a rectangular or triangular longitudinal section. The decoration members 4B and the grooves 11B are alternated. The decoration members 4B has a plurality of holes 41B each aligned with the bristle fastening hole (not shown) on the head body 1B. In normal use, the grooves 11B and the decoration members 4B are not limited to the arrangement of FIG. 11.


Referring to FIG. 12, a ventilating hairbrush 100C in accordance with a fifth preferred embodiment of the invention is shown. The characteristics of the fifth preferred embodiment are substantially the same as that of the fourth preferred embodiment except the following: A spiral groove 11C and a spiral decoration members 4C are provided on the head body 10. The groove 11C includes a plurality of holes 111C into the head body 10. The groove 110 is chamfered or has a rectangular or triangular longitudinal section. The decoration member 4C and the groove 110 are alternated. The decoration member 4C has a plurality of holes 41C each aligned with the bristle fastening hole (not shown) on the head body 10.


Referring to FIGS. 13 and 14, a ventilating hairbrush 100D in accordance with a sixth preferred embodiment of the invention is shown. The characteristics of the sixth preferred embodiment are substantially the same as that of the fifth preferred embodiment except the following: the head body 1D is curved and includes a plurality of parallel grooves 11D and a plurality of decoration members 4D all arranged lengthwise. The groove 11D includes a plurality of holes 111D into the head body 1D. The groove 11D is chamfered or has a rectangular or triangular longitudinal section. The decoration members 4D and the groove 11D are alternated. The decoration member 4D has a plurality of holes 41D each aligned with the bristle fastening hole (not shown) on the head body 1D. In normal use, the grooves 11D and the decoration members 4D are not limited to the arrangement of FIG. 13.


The decoration members 4B, 4C and 4D are arranged in the grooves (not shown) and secured to the head body 1B, 10 and 1D respectively by screws or adhesive.


In conjunction with a blow dryer, in a brushing operation of the ventilating hairbrush 100. 100A, 100B, 100C, or 100D, the grooves 11, 11A, 11B, 11C, or 11D guide air to prolong a contact time with the hair so that the hair can be quickly brushed, curled and styled.


The ventilating hairbrush 100,100A, 100B, 100C, or 100D of the invention has the following characteristics and advantages: With the lengthwise arranged grooves 11, 11A, 11B, 11C, or 11D on the surface of the head body 1, 1A, 1B, 10, or 1D, either alone or in conjunction with a blow dryer, the grooves 11, 11A, 11B, 11C, or 11D guide air to prolong a contact time with the hair so that the hair can be quickly brushed, curled and styled.


While the invention has been described in terms of preferred embodiments, those skilled in the art will recognize that the invention can be practiced with modifications within the spirit and scope of the appended claims.

Claims
  • 1. A ventilating hairbrush, comprising: a head body;a handle attached to the head body; anda plurality of bristles extending outwardly from the head body;wherein the head body and the handle are formed integrally;wherein the head body is cylindrical, elongated and includes a groove lengthwise disposed on a surface; and a plurality of spaced holes lengthwise disposed on the surface; andwherein the bristles are fastened in the holes.
  • 2. The ventilating hairbrush of claim 1, wherein the groove is spirally, lengthwise disposed on the surface and the holes are spirally, lengthwise disposed on the surface.
  • 3. The ventilating hairbrush of claim 1, wherein the number of the groove is more than one and the plural grooves are concentrically, lengthwise disposed on the surface; the holes are concentrically, lengthwise disposed on the surface; and the holes are disposed between two adjacent ones of the grooves.
  • 4. The ventilating hairbrush of claim 1, wherein the bristles are made of natural material, metal and/or thermoplastic.
  • 5. The ventilating hairbrush of claim 1, wherein the groove is chamfered or has a rectangular or triangular longitudinal section.
  • 6. A ventilating hairbrush, comprising: a head body including a groove on a surface;a handle attached to the head body; anda plurality of bristles extending outwardly from the groove of the head body;wherein the head body further comprises a decoration member on the surface and spaced from the groove.
  • 7. The ventilating hairbrush of claim 6, wherein the groove is chamfered or has a rectangular or triangular longitudinal section.
  • 8. The ventilating hairbrush of claim 6, wherein the groove is diagonally, transversely, vertically, or wavily disposed on the surface of the head body.
  • 9. The ventilating hairbrush of claim 8, wherein the groove includes a plurality of hole members.
  • 10. The ventilating hairbrush of claim 6, wherein the groove includes a plurality of hole members.
  • 11. The ventilating hairbrush of claim 6, wherein the decoration member is made of metal, a liquid absorbing material, a material capable of destroying or deactivating organisms, a slip-resistant material, an aromatic material, or a conductive material.
  • 12. The ventilating hairbrush of claim 6, wherein the head body further comprises a cavity on the surface with the decoration member disposed therein.
  • 13. The ventilating hairbrush of claim 6, wherein the decoration member includes a plurality of hole elements.
  • 14. A ventilating hairbrush, comprising: a head body including a plurality of grooves on a surface;a handle attached to the head body; anda plurality of bristles extending outwardly from the grooves of the head body;wherein the head body further comprises a plurality of decoration members on the surface and spaced from the grooves.
  • 15. The ventilating hairbrush of claim 14, wherein each groove is chamfered or has a rectangular or triangular longitudinal section.
  • 16. The ventilating hairbrush of claim 14, wherein each groove is diagonally, transversely, vertically, or wavily disposed on the surface of the head body.
  • 17. The ventilating hairbrush of claim 16, wherein each groove includes a plurality of hole members.
  • 18. The ventilating hairbrush of claim 14, wherein each groove includes a plurality of hole elements.
  • 19. The ventilating hairbrush of claim 14, wherein each decoration member is made of metal, a liquid absorbing material, a material capable of destroying or deactivating organisms, a slip-resistant material, an aromatic material, or a conductive material.
  • 20. The ventilating hairbrush of claim 14, wherein the head body further comprises a plurality of cavities on the surface with the decoration members disposed therein respectively.
  • 21. The ventilating hairbrush of claim 14, wherein the decoration member includes a plurality of hole elements.
