Claims
- 1. A picture enhancement apparatus comprising:first enhancement means for enhancing a first band which is a higher frequency band in a frequency band of an input video data; second enhancement means for enhancing a second band which is a lower frequency band in a frequency band thereof, wherein a predetermined frequency band of said video data is enhanced by using said first enhancement means and said second enhancement means; a first-stage band dividing filter formed of a high-pass filter and a low-pass filter; a second stage band dividing filter formed of a high-pass filter and a low-pass filter provided at the succeeding stage of said low-pass filter of said first-stage band dividing filter; a plural-stage band dividing filter formed of high-pass filters and low-pass filters provided at the succeeding stage of the low-pass filter at the preceding stage; and wherein said first enhancement means employs said high-pass filter of said first-stage band dividing filter and said second enhancement means employs said low-pass filter of said first-stage band dividing filter and said high-pass filter of said plural-stage band dividing filter.
- 2. A picture enhancement apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising:a first gain setting means for setting a gain of said first enhancement means; and a second gain setting means for setting a gain of said second enhancement means, wherein the gain set by said first gain setting means and the gain set by said second gain setting means are independently set.
- 3. A picture enhancement apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising:a first coefficient used for said first band by said first enhancement means; and a second coefficient used for said second band by said second enhancement means.
- 4. A picture enhancement method comprising the steps of:first enhancement step of enhancing a first band which is a higher frequency band in a frequency band of an input video data; second enhancement step of passing a second band which is a lower frequency band in a frequency band thereof to enhance said second band; a step of enhancing a predetermined frequency band of said video data by using said first enhancement step and said second enhancement step; a first-stage band dividing filter processing for carrying out a high-pass filter processing and a low-pass filter processing; a second stage band dividing filter processing for carrying out a high-pass filter processing and a low-pass filter processing at the succeeding stage of said low-pass filter processing; a plural-stage band dividing filter processing for carrying out high-pass filter processing and low-pass filter processing at the succeeding stage of the low-pass filter processing at the preceding stage; and wherein said first enhancement step employs said low-pass filter processing of said first-stage band dividing filter processing and said high-pass filter processing of said plural-stage band dividing filter processing.
- 5. A picture enhancement method according to claim 4, further comprising the steps of:a first gain setting step of setting a gain used in said first enhancement step; and a second gain setting step of setting a gain used in said second enhancement step, wherein the gain set in said first gain setting step and the gain set in said second gain setting step are independently set.
