Claims
- 1. A brightness signal distortion correction circuit for use in a video recorder that generates frequency-modulated brightness signals as part of a playback signal, comprising:
- distortion correction means (11), responsive to an amplitude of the frequency-modulated brightness signals at a first input (28), and further responsive to disturbance recognition control signals (U) at a second input (27), having a band pass filter (14, 15, 19) and having phase delay means (14, 16) including threshold switching means (16) with a first state and a second state, for providing distortion-corrected frequency-modulated brightness signals which pass the band pass filter (14, 15, 19) when the threshold switching means (16) is in the first state, and which pass the phase delay means (14, 16) when the threshold switching means (16) is in the second state, wherein a switching level (U16) of the threshold switching means (16) is adjustable by the disturbance recognition control signals (U), and for further providing distortion correction control signals; and
- disturbance recognition means (21), responsive to the distortion correction control signals, for providing the disturbance recognition control signals (U) for adjusting the switching level (U16) of the threshold switching means (16).
- 2. A brightness signal distortion correction circuit for use in a video recorder that generates frequency-modulated brightness signals as part of a playback signal, comprising:
- distortion correction means (11), responsive to the frequency-modulated brightness signals, for providing distortion correction control signals, and for providing distortion-corrected frequency-modulated brightness signals; and
- disturbance recognition means (21), responsive to the distortion correction control signals, for providing disturbance recognition control signals (J);
- wherein an input of the distortion correction means (11) is coupled to an output of a level control circuit means (8) being arranged between the distortion correction means (11) and the disturbance recognition means (21), and having a voltage divider circuit (50, 51), including a series resistor (51) and two antiparallel diode means (50), and being responsive to the disturbance recognition control signals (J) for providing frequency-modulated brightness signals which have voltage levels responsive to the disturbance recognition control signals (J).
- 3. A brightness signal distortion correction circuit according to claim 2, wherein the disturbance recognition circuit (21) comprises:
- a disturbed oscillation detector (22), responsive to the distortion correction control signals, for providing an error signal (F);
- an error rate circuit (23), responsive to the error signal (F), for providing an error rate signal (30); and
- an error rate generator (24), responsive to the error rate signal (30), for providing disturbance recognition control signals (J).
- 4. A brightness signal distortion correction circuit for use in a video recorder that generates frequency-modulated brightness signals as part of a playback signal, comprising:
- distortion correction means (11), responsive to the frequency-modulated brightness signals, and further responsive to disturbance recognition control signals (U) for providing distortion correction control signals, and for further providing distortion-corrected frequency-modulated brightness signals; and
- disturbance recognition means (21), responsive to the distortion correction control signals, for providing the disturbance recognition control signals (U);
- wherein the distortion correction means (11) has a band pass filter (14, 15, 19) and has phase delay means (14, 16) including an adjustable threshold switching means (16) with a first state and a second state, responsive to an amplitude of the frequency-modulated brightness signals at an input (28), and further responsive to the disturbance recognition control signals (U) for providing distortion-corrected frequency-modulated brightness signals which pass the band pass filter (14, 15, 19) when the adjustable threshold switching means (16) is in the first state, and which pass the phase delay means (14, 16) when the adjustable threshold switching means (16) is in the second state, and for providing the distortion correction control signals; and
- wherein the disturbance recognition means (21) comprises
- a disturbed oscillation detector (22), responsive to distortion correction control signals, for providing an error signal (F);
- an error rate circuit (23), responsive to the error signal (F), for providing an error rate signal (FR); and
- an error rate generator (24), responsive to the error rate signal (FR), for providing the disturbance recognition control signal (U).
- 5. A brightness signal distortion correction circuit (8, 11, 21) for a video recorder for processing frequency-modulated brightness signals, comprising a distortion correction circuit (11) arranged in a signal path (1), having
- a band-pass filter (19) tuned to the frequency deviation of the carrier oscillation of a frequency-modulated brightness signal that directly reproduces the frequency-modulated brightness signals when the distortion correction circuit (11) is in a first switching state,
- an amplitude-controlled delay circuit (14/17) that increasingly delays the phase of individual oscillations of the frequency-modulated brightness signal as the amplitude of the frequency-modulated brightness signal increases when the distortion correction circuit (11) is in a second switching state, and
- a threshold switch (17) connected to the band-pass filter (11), having a preset switching threshold (U17.0, U17.1), for switching the distortion correction circuit (11) with a switching pattern that corresponds to that of a switching diode at the flexion point of its characteristic from the first switching state into the second switching state whenever an oscillation sequence (52) of the frequency-modulated brightness signal received by the distortion correction circuit (11) exceeds the preset switching threshold (U17.0, U17.1);
- disturbance recognition circuit (21) which detects individual oscillations (52.0-52.9) of the frequency-modulated brightness signal received by the distortion correction circuit (11) that do not exceed the threshold levels (Ue1, Ue2) of the disturbance recognition circuit (21), and for providing a control signal (31) that depends on an error rate (FR) of disturbed oscillations (52.3-52.7) so that as the error rate (FR) produced from the disturbed oscillations (52.3-52.7) increases,
- a level control circuit (8) being connected to the distortion correction circuit (11), responsive to the control signal (J) which is fed to a control input (27) for providing the frequency-modulated brightness signals at a particular level depending on the control signal (J).
- 6. A brightness signal distortion correction circuit according to claim 5, wherein the transmission circuit (8) operates as a damping circuit having a damping factor that is set by the setting input (27).
- 7. A brightness signal distortion correction circuit according to claim 5, wherein the transmission circuit (8) operates as a variable symmetrical amplifier with an input that permits its amplification signal to be set.
- 8. A brightness signal distortion correction circuit according to claim 6, wherein the damping circuit (8) is a voltage divider circuit, including a resistor (51) and first and second diodes (50) for damping the frequency brightness signals.
- 9. A brightness signal distortion correction circuit signal according to claim 5, wherein the brightness signal distortion circuit (8, 11, 21) further includes a level regulating amplifier (56) coupled via an integrator to the level control means (8), for maintaining the voltage value of the brightness signal (54) at input (28) of the distortion correction circuit (11) above a preset minimum value.
- 10. A brightness signal distortion correction circuit according to claim 5, wherein the disturbance recognition circuit (21) comprises
- a disturbed oscillation detector (22) of distortion corrected brightness signal (39, 52), responsive to the individual oscillations (52.0-52.9) of the distortion corrected brightness signal, for providing an error signal (F);
- an error rate circuit (23), responsive to the error signal (F), for providing an error rate signal (FR); and
- an error rate generator (24), responsive to the error rate signal (FR), for providing the control signal (J) from the error rate signal (FR).
- 11. A brightness signal distortion correction circuit according to claim 5, wherein the threshold switch (17) has a switching threshold which is equal to an average voltage value of the preset switching threshold (17.1, 17.2).
- 12. A brightness signal distortion correction circuit (11, 21) for a video recorder for processing frequency-modulated brightness signals of a playback signal from a video tape, comprising:
- distortion correction circuit (11) having
- a band-pass filter (19) tuned to a frequency deviation of a carrier oscillation of the frequency-modulated brightness signals that directly reproduces a wave shape of the carrier oscillation when the distortion correction circuit (11) is in a first switching state;
- an amplitude-controlled delay circuit (14/25) that increasingly delays the phase of individual oscillations of the signal brightness as the amplitude of the frequency-modulated brightness signals increases when the distortion correction circuit (11) is in a second switching state; and
- a threshold switch (16) connected to the band-pass filter (19), having an adjustable switching threshold (U16.1, U16.10; U16.2, U16.20; U16.3, U16.30), for switching the distortion correction circuit (11) with a switching pattern that corresponds to that of two antiparallel switching diodes (18) at the flexion point of its characteristic from the first switching state into the second switching state when an oscillation sequence (39) of the frequency-modulated brightness signals received by the distortion correction circuit (11) exceeds the preset switching threshold (U16.1, U16.10; U16.2, U16.20; U16.3, U16.30),
- disturbance recognition circuit (21) connected to the distortion correction circuit (11), which detects individual disturbed oscillations (45.22, 45.35) of the frequency-modulated brightness signals passing through the distortion correction circuit (11) that do not exceed the threshold level (U47.1, U47.2) of the disturbance recognition circuit (21), and for providing a control signal (31) for a control input (27) that depends on an error rate (FR) of disturbed oscillations (45.22, 45.32, 45.35), so that as the error rate (FR) produced from the disturbed oscillations increases the adjustable switching threshold (40.1, 40.2, 40.3) of the threshold switch (16) is lowered via the control input (27) for switching the distortion correction circuit (11) into the second switching state.
- 13. A brightness signal distortion correction circuit according to claim 12, wherein the disturbance recognition circuit (21) comprises
- a disturbed oscillation detector (22) of distortion corrected brightness signal (39, 52), responsive to the individual oscillations (52.0-52.9) of the distortion corrected brightness signal, for providing an error signal (F);
- an error rate circuit (23), responsive to the error signal (F), for providing an error rate signal (FR); and
- an error rate generator (24), responsive to the error rate signal (FR), for providing the control signal (J) from the error rate signal (FR).
- 14. A brightness signal distortion correction circuit according to claim 12, wherein the threshold switch (16, 17) has a switching threshold which is equal to an average voltage value of the preset switching threshold (40.1, 40.2, 40.3).
- 15. A brightness signal distortion correction circuit (8, 11, 21) for a video recorder, for processing frequency-modulated brightness signals having an oscillation sequence (52) with a phase and amplitude, comprising:
- a level control circuit (8) having a resistor (51) and first and second diodes (50) and having a control input (27), responsive to the frequency-modulated brightness signals, for providing the frequency-modulated brightness signals (45) at a voltage output level;
- distortion correction circuit (11), being connected to the level control circuit (8), and including
- a band-pass filter (19) having an inductance means (14) and a capacitive coupling (15), and being tuned to the frequency deviation of a carrier oscillation of the frequency-modulated brightness signals, the band-pass filter (19) directly reproducing the frequency-modulated brightness signals when the distortion correction circuit (11) is in a filtering state, and
- a threshold switch (17) having switching diode means (18) with preset switching thresholds (U17.0, U17.1), into the filtering state when the amplitude of the frequency-modulated brightness signal (45) is within the range of the preset switching thresholds (U17.0, U17.1), and for switching the distortion correction circuit (11) into a delayed-phase switching state when the amplitude of the oscillation
- sequence 52 of the frequency-modulated brightness signals (45) is not within the range of the preset switching threshold (U17.0, U17.1);
- a disturbance recognition circuit (21) connected between the distortion correction circuit (11) and the level control means (8), having charge detector (22), an error rate circuit (23) and a control signal generator (24), for detecting disturbed oscillations (52.4, 52.7) of the frequency-modulated brightness signals (45), and for providing a control signal (U, J) to the control input (27) of the level control means (8) to continuously adjust the voltage output level of the level control means (8) depending on a rate of a disturbed oscillation error rate signal (FR).
- 16. A brightness signal distortion correction circuit (11, 21) for a video recorder, for processing frequency-modulated brightness signals (39) having an oscillation sequence (39) with a phase, an amplitude, and a zero line (46), comprising
- a distortion correction circuit (11), including
- a band-pass filter (19) tuned to a frequency deviation of a carrier oscillation of the frequency-modulated brightness signals (39), the band-pass filter (19) directly reproducing the frequency-modulated brightness signals (39) when the distortion correction circuit (11) is in a band-pass filter switching state,
- an amplitude-controlled delay circuit (14/25) that increasingly delays the phase of individual oscillations of the frequency-modulated brightness signal (39) as the amplitude of the frequency-modulated brightness signals (39) increases when the distortion correction circuit (11) is in a delayed-phase switching state, and
- an adjustable threshold switch (16) having a controlled switching threshold (U16.1, U16.10; U16.2, U16.20; U16.3, U16.30), that switches the distortion correction circuit (11) between the by-pass switching state and the delay-phase switching state depending on the amplitude of the oscillation sequence of the frequency-modulated brightness signals (39) with respect to the controlled switching threshold (U16.1, U16.10; U16.2, U16.20; U16.3, U16.30); and
- disturbance recognition circuit (21) connected to the distortion correction circuit (11), having an oscillation disturbance detector (22), for detecting disturbed oscillations (45.22, 45.32, 45.35) of the frequency-modulated brightness signals (39) that do not exceed threshold levels (47.1, 47.2) of the disturbance signal recognition circuit (21), and for providing a control signal (U) for the control input (27) of the distortion correction circuit (11) to continuously adjust the switching threshold (U16.1, U16.10; U16.2, U16.20; U16.3, U16.30).
