Claims
- 1. In apparatus for feeding a voltage signal from a source to a load via a pull-apart connector, the combination comprising
- (a) a high gain summing amplifier having non-inverting and inverting input terminals and an output terminal,
- (b) means for coupling said voltage signal from said source to said non-inverting input terminal,
- (c) a pull-apart connector having first and second output members separably engageable respectively with first and second input members, said members when engaged inevitably creating first and second contact resistances,
- (d) means coupling the output terminal of said amplifier to said second input member,
- (e) a terminal point electrically joined directly to said first and second output members and adapted for connection to said load, said coupling means including an asymetrically conductive diode poled to pass current from said amplifier output terminal to said load via said second resistance and said terminal point, and
- (f) a direction connection from said first input member to said inverting input terminal to create a negative feedback loop for said amplifier, said first contact resistance residing electrically in said negative feedback loop with the feedback voltage being taken from a point downstream of said second resistance where the voltage applied to the load exists.
- 2. In a voltage follower for feeding a voltage signal from a source to a load via a pull-apart connector, the combination comprising
- (a) a high gain summing operational amplifier having non-inverting and inverting input terminals and an output terminal,
- (b) means for coupling the voltage signal of said source to said non-inverting terminal,
- (c) a first pull-apart connector having first input and output elements which, when engaged, inevitably create a first contact resistance,
- (d) a second pull-apart connector having second input and output elements which, when engaged, inevitably create a second contact resistance,
- (e) means for coupling the output terminal of said amplifier to said second input element, an asymetrically conductive diode in series between said amplifier output terminal and said second input element,
- (f) a terminal point adapted for connection to the load, and means directly connecting both of said output elements to the terminal point, and
- (g) a direct connection from said first input element to said inverting input terminal to create a negative feedback loop for said amplifier,
- said first contact resistance reading electrically in series between said terminal point and said inverting input terminal with the feedback voltage being constituted by the voltage applied to the load from said terminal point.
