Claims
- 1. In the catalyzed water gas shift reaction, the improvement which comprises using as catalyst a catalytically effective amount of an intercalate composition comprising graphite intercalated with a transition metal carbonyl.
- 2. The water gas shift reaction of claim 1 wherein a base is present as a catalyst promotor.
- 3. In the catalyzed water gas shift reaction, the improvement which comprises using as catalyst an intercalate composition comprising a lamellar material selected from the group consisting of vermiculite, a smectite and crystalline zirconium dihydrogen phosphate intercalated with a transition metal carbonyl.
- 4. The reaction of claim 3 wherein the transition metal carbonyl is a transition metal carbonyl cluster.
- 5. The reaction of claim 3 wherein the transition metal carbonyl is a carbonyl of rhodium or ruthenium.
