Claims
- 1. A water heater device comprising:
- a water tank;
- an outer shell concentrically located over the water tank defining an annular space therebetween;
- an annular sleeve of insulation material located in the annular space extending from approximately the bottom end of the water heater device upwardly longitudinally thereof a predetermined distance less than the entire height of the water heater device; and,
- an annular cuff of insulation material located proximate the top end of the annular sleeve and folded back over the convex outer surface of the sleeve, the annular cuff having a radial thickness greater than the radial thickness of the sleeve.
- 2. The water heater device of claim 1, wherein the annular cuff has a radial thickness greater than the radial width of the annular space.
- 3. The water heater device of claim 1, wherein the annular cuff comprises a portion of the annular top end of the sleeve folded back over the convex outer surface of the sleeve.
- 4. The water heater device of claim 1, wherein the sleeve comprises:
- a first annular section of insulation material extending from approximately the bottom end of the water heater device upwardly longitudinally of the water heater device a predetermined distance less than the entire height of the water heater device; and,
- a second annular section of insulation material located at the top end of the first section with a first circumferential portion in overlapping relationship to the concave side of the first section, and a second circumferential portion extending above the top end of the first section and folded over the top end of the first section back over the convex outer surface of the first section, thus, forming the cuff.
- 5. The water heater device of claim 1, wherein the annular cuff comprises a portion of the annular top end of the sleeve folded back over itself to overlap the concave side of the sleeve and a portion of the overlapping portion folded back over the convex surface of the sleeve.
- 6. The water heater device of claim 1, further comprising an annular cinch strap located circumferentially of the sleeve.
- 7. The water heater device of claim 1, wherein the circumferential strap is disposed within the cuff.
- 8. The water heater device of claim 1, further comprising cuff compressing means for compressing the cuff and displacing the cuff radially of the annular space against the interior wall surface of the outer shell and against the exterior wall surface of the inner water tank.
- 9. The water heater device of claim 8, wherein the cuff compressing means comprises a ring connected to the interior wall surface of the outer shell.
- 10. The water heater device of claim 1, further comprising expanded foam insulation material filling the annular space above the cuff.
