The disclosure relates to smoking assemblies and more particularly pertains to a new smoking assembly for smoking herbal substances. The present invention discloses a pocket sized smoking assembly comprising a housing having a chamber and a plurality of compartments. A first tube extends from a bowl into the chamber, while a second tube is selectively engageable to the housing and is used to draw smoke from the bowl through water in the chamber. The compartments are used for stowing an igniter and an herbal substance.
The prior art relates to smoking assemblies, which may comprise water pipes for smoking herbal substances and cigarettes. Some prior art smoking assemblies have detachable hoses or storage compartments. What is lacking in the prior art is a smoking assembly comprising a housing having a chamber and a plurality of compartments. A first tube extends from a bowl into the chamber, while a second tube is selectively engageable to the housing and is used to draw smoke from the bowl through water in the chamber. The compartments are used for stowing an igniter and an herbal substance.
An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a housing, which defines an interior space. A set of walls is engaged to the housing and is positioned in the interior space to define a chamber and a plurality of compartments. A first port and a second port are positioned in a top of the housing and open into the chamber. A bowl is engaged to the housing and is positioned in the chamber so that an open end of the bowl is substantially flush with the first port. A first tube is engaged to the bowl and extends from the bowl to proximate to a lower limit of the chamber so that the bowl is in fluidic communication with the chamber.
A second tube is selectively engageable by a first end to the housing so that the second tube extends from the second port. The bowl is configured to position an herbal substance for smoking. A second end of the second tube is configured to be positioned in a mouth of a user, positioning the user to draw on the second tube. Smoke generated in the bowl is drawn through the first tube, through water partially filling the chamber, which filters the smoke, and then through the second tube and into the mouth and lungs of the user.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
The plurality of compartments 20 may comprise a first compartment 22, which is positioned at a front 24 of the housing 12 and which has a lower end 26 that is coplanar with a lower limit 28 of the chamber 18. The plurality of compartments 20 may comprise a second compartment 30, which is positioned below the chamber 18 and the first compartment 22 and which may extend between a rear 32 and the front 24 of the housing 12. The plurality of compartments 20 also may comprise a third compartment 34, which is positioned below the second compartment 30 and which may extend between the rear 32 and the front 24 of the housing 12.
A plurality of openings 36 is positioned in the front 24 of the housing 12, with each opening 36 being aligned with a respective compartment 20. The opening 36 is positioned for insertion of a respective article 38, such as an ignitor 40, an herbal substance 42, and the like, into the respective compartment 20. A plurality of panels 44 is selectively engageable to the housing 12 to substantially covering a top 46 of the housing 12 and to close the openings 36 that are positioned in the front 24 of the housing 12.
A plurality of tracks 48 is engaged to the top 46 and to the front 24 of the housing 12, as shown in
A first port 52 and a second port 54 are positioned in the top 46 of the housing 12 and open into the chamber 18. The first port 52 is positioned proximate to the rear 32 of the housing 12. The second port 54 is positioned proximate to the front 24 of the housing 12 and is internally threaded.
A bowl 56 is engaged to the housing 12 and is positioned in the chamber 18 so that an open end 92 of the bowl 56 is substantially flush with the first port 52. A first tube 58 is engaged to the bowl 56 and extends from the bowl 56 to proximate to a lower limit 28 of the chamber 18 so that the bowl 56 is in fluidic communication with the chamber 18. The bowl 56 is reversibly engageable to the housing 12 so that the bowl 56 and the first tube 58 are selectively detachable from the housing 12 for cleaning purposes. As shown in
A second tube 66 is selectively engageable by a first end 68 to the housing 12 so that the second tube 66 extends from the second port 54. A mouthpiece 70 is engaged to a second end 72 of the second tube 66. The bowl 56 is configured to position an herbal substance 42 for smoking. The second end 72 of the second tube 66 is configured to be positioned in a mouth of a user, positioning the user to draw on the second tube 66. Smoke 74 generated in the bowl 56 is drawn through the first tube 58, through water 76 partially filling the chamber 18, which filters the smoke 74, and then through the second tube 66 and into the mouth and lungs of the user.
A pair of caps 78 selectively engageable to the housing 12 to reversibly close the first port 52 and the second port 54. The first port 52 and the second port 54 may be circumferentially equivalent so that either of the caps 78 is positioned to reversibly close either of the first port 52 and the second port 54.
The second tube 66 is sized so that it is stowable within the first compartment 22, as shown in
A bevel 80 is positioned in the housing 12 at the top 46 and the front 24, as shown in
A hole 82 is positioned in the top 46 of the housing 12 and opens into the chamber 18. The hole 82 is configured for addition of water 76 to and for drainage of water 76 from the chamber 18. A plug 84, which is complementary to the hole 82, is selectively insertable into the hole 82 to close the hole 82. The hole 82 and plug 84 also can function as a carburetor 86 while smoking. The user can remove the plug 84 to allow entry of fresh air into the chamber 18 while drawing remaining smoke 74 through the second tube 66.
In use, at least enough water 76 is added to the chamber 18 so that an end 88 of the first tube 58 proximate to the lower limit 28 of the chamber 18 is submerged in the water 76 when the housing 12 is substantially upright. An herbal substance 42 suitable for smoking is positioned in one of the compartments 20. An igniter, such as a lighter, matches, and the like, which is configured to selectively light the herbal substance 42, is positioned in another of the compartments 20. A portion 90 of the herbal substance 42 is positioned in the bowl 56. The lighter is accessed by the user and is utilized to light the portion 90 of the herbal substance 42. The second end 72 of the second tube 66 is positioned in a mouth of the user, who then draws on the second tube 66 so that the smoke 74 generated in the bowl 56 is drawn through the first tube 58, through the water 76 partially filling the chamber 18 to filter the smoke, and then through the second tube 66 and into the mouth and lungs of the user.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
