Claims
- 1. A weather barrier for sealing a window or door using adhesive tape, said barrier comprising:
- a rectangular sheet of transparent flexible film having top, bottom, left, and right sides, and a top edge at said top side;
- a band attached to said top side of said sheet and having first and second sides;
- an adhesive on a portion of one of said first and second sides of said band;
- said sheet being folded parallel to said top and bottom sides with said top edge exposed and said film disposed in several layers; and,
- said band and said folded sheet being rolled parallel to said top edge of said sheet.
- 2. The barrier of claim 1, wherein said band is substantially stiffer than said sheet.
- 3. The barrier of claim 1, wherein said band is substantially thicker than said sheet.
- 4. The barrier of claim 3, wherein said band is substantially stiffer than said sheet.
- 5. The barrier of claim 1, wherein said band and said folded sheet are rolled such that said adhesive bearing side of said band faces inwardly.
- 6. The barrier of claim 4, wherein said film is heat shrinkable.
- 7. The barrier of claim 1, wherein said film is heat shrinkable.
- 8. A weather barrier for sealing a window or door using adhesive tape, said barrier comprising:
- a rectangular sheet of transparent flexible film having top, bottom, left, and right sides, and a top edge at said top side;
- a band attached to said top side of said sheet and having first and second sides;
- an adhesive on a portion of one of said first and second sides of said band;
- said sheet being folded parallel to said top and bottom sides with said top edge exposed and said film disposed in several layers;
- said band and said folded sheet being rolled parallel to said top edge of said sheet;
- said band is thicker than said sheet;
- said band is stiffer than said sheet;
- said film is heat shrinkable; and,
- said band comprises a first adhesive tape having an adhesive side, a non-adhesive side, and a first transverse dimension, said film being bound to said first adhesive tape by adhesion to said adhesive side over a portion of said first transverse dimension only; and a second adhesive tape having a second transverse dimension less than said first transverse dimension; said second adhesive tape adhering to said non-adhesive side of said first adhesive tape over a portion of said first transverse dimension only.
- 9. A weather barrier for sealing a window or door using adhesive tape, said barrier comprising:
- a rectangular sheet of transparent flexible film having top, bottom, left, and right sides, and a top edge at said top side;
- a band attached to said top side of said sheet and having first and second sides;
- an adhesive on a portion of one of said first and second sides of said band;
- said sheet being folded parallel to said top and bottom sides with said top edge exposed and said film disposed in several layers;
- said band and said folded sheet being rolled parallel to said top edge of said sheet; and,
- said band comprises a first adhesive tape having an adhesive side, a non-adhesive side, and a first transverse dimension, said film being bound to said first adhesive tape by adhesion to said adhesive side over a portion of said first transverse dimension only; and a second adhesive tape having a second transverse dimension less than said first transverse dimension; said second adhesive tape adhering to said non-adhesive side of said first adhesive tape over a portion of said first transverse dimension only.
- 10. A weather barrier for sealing a window or door using adhesive tape, said barrier comprising:
- a rectangular sheet of transparent flexible film having top, bottom, left, and right sides, and a top edge at said top side;
- a band attached to said top side of said sheet and having first and second sides;
- an adhesive on a portion of one of said first and second sides of said band;
- said sheet being folded parallel to said top and bottom sides with said top edge exposed and said film disposed in several layers;
- said band and said folded sheet being rolled parallel to said top edge of said sheet;
- said band is thicker than said sheet;
- said band is stiffer than said sheet;
- said film is heat shrinkable; and,
- said band comprises a first adhesive tape having a first transverse dimension and a second adhesive tape having a second transverse dimension bound to said first adhesive tape, said film being bound to said first adhesive tape over a third transverse dimension, the total of said second transverse dimension and said third transverse dimension being less than said first transverse dimension whereby said second adhesive tape and said film do not overlap.
- 11. A weather barrier for sealing a window or door using adhesive tape, said barrier comprising:
- a rectangular sheet of transparent flexible film having top, bottom, left, and right sides, and a top edge at said top side;
- a band attached to said top side of said sheet and having first and second sides;
- an adhesive on a portion of one of said first and second sides of said band;
- said sheet being folded parallel to said top and bottom sides with said top edge exposed and said film disposed in several layers; and,
- said band and said folded sheet being rolled parallel to said top edge of said sheet; and,
- said band comprises a first adhesive tape having a first transverse dimension and a second adhesive tape having a second transverse dimension bound to said first adhesive tape, said film being bound to said first adhesive tape over a third transverse dimension, the total of said second transverse dimension and said third transverse dimension being less than said first transverse dimension whereby said second adhesive tape and said film do not overlap.
- 12. A weather barrier for sealing a window or door using adhesive tape, said barrier comprising:
- a rectangular sheet of transparent flexible film having top, bottom, left, and right sides, and a top edge at said top side;
- a band attached to said top side of said sheet and having first and second sides;
- an adhesive on a portion of one of said first and second sides of said band;
- said sheet being folded parallel to said top and bottom sides with said top edge exposed and said film disposed in several layers; and,
- said band and said folded sheet being rolled parallel to said top edge of said sheet;
- said band is stiffer than said sheet; and,
- said band comprises a first adhesive tape having a first transverse dimension and a second adhesive tape having a second transverse dimension bound to said first adhesive tape, said film being bound to said first adhesive tape over a third transverse dimension, the total of said second transverse dimension and said third transverse dimension being less than said first transverse dimension whereby said second adhesive tape and said film do not overlap.
- 13. A weather barrier for sealing a window or door using adhesive tape, said barrier comprising:
- a rectangular sheet of transparent flexible film having top, bottom, left, and right sides, and a top edge at said top side;
- a band attached to said top side of said sheet and having first and second sides;
- an adhesive on a portion of one of said first and second sides of said band;
- said sheet being folded parallel to said top and bottom sides with said top edge exposed and said film disposed in several layers;
- said band and said folded sheet being rolled parallel to said top edge of said sheet;
- said band is thicker than said sheet; and,
- said band comprises a first adhesive tape having a first transverse dimension and a second adhesive tape having a second transverse dimension bound to said first adhesive tape, said film being bound to said first adhesive tape over a third transverse dimension, the total of said second transverse dimension and said third transverse dimension being less than said first transverse dimension whereby said second adhesive tape and said film do not overlap.
- 14. A weather barrier for sealing a window or door using adhesive tape, said barrier comprising:
- a rectangular sheet of transparent flexible film having top, bottom, left, and right sides, and a top edge at said top side;
- a band attached to said top side of said sheet and having first and second sides;
- an adhesive on a portion of one of said first and second sides of said band;
- said sheet being folded parallel to said top and bottom sides with said top edge exposed and said film disposed in several layers;
- said band and said folded sheet being rolled parallel to said top edge of said sheet;
- said band is stiffer than said sheet; and,
- said band comprises a first adhesive tape having an adhesive side, a non-adhesive side, and a first transverse dimension, said film being bound to said first adhesive tape by adhesion to said adhesive side over a portion of said first transverse dimension only; and a second adhesive tape having a second transverse dimension less than said first transverse dimension; said second adhesive tape adhering to said non-adhesive side of said first adhesive tape over a portion of said first transverse dimension only.
- 15. A weather barrier for sealing a window or door using adhesive tape, said barrier comprising:
- a rectangular sheet of transparent flexible film having top, bottom, left, and right sides, and a top edge at said top side;
- a band attached to said top side of said sheet and having first and second sides;
- an adhesive on a portion of one of said first and second sides of said band;
- said sheet being folded parallel to said top and bottom sides with said top edge exposed and said film disposed in several layers;
- said band and said folded sheet being rolled parallel to said top edge of said sheet;
- said band is thicker than said sheet; and,
- said band comprises a first adhesive tape having an adhesive side, a non-adhesive side, and a first transverse dimension, said film being bound to said first adhesive tape by adhesion to said adhesive side over a portion of said first transverse dimension only; and a second adhesive tape having a second transverse dimension less than said first transverse dimension; said second adhesive tape adhering to said non-adhesive side of said first adhesive tape over a portion of said first transverse dimension only.
