This invention relates to fitness bands and particularly ones that can be worn to tone the body and assist in weight loss.
The percentage of Americans who are overweight or obese has steadily risen over the past three decades, with the five years to 2014 being no exception. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in 2012 (latest available data), 68.5% of Americans over the age of 20 were overweight. Additionally, obesity is steadily increasing in the United States, prompting some medical practitioners to label it an epidemic. According to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Disease, from 1960 to 2010 (latest available data), the prevalence of adult obesity increased from 13.4% to 35.7% among adults aged 20 to 74.
In the coming years, the healthiness of Americans' diets will continue increase, with the consumption patterns of all measured food categories expected to ameliorate, according to a 2014 report from IBIS World.5 Health food stores have become more popular than ever in recent years, and increasing income will push more consumers to exercise, purchase fitness equipment and eat healthier foods that may come with a higher price tag.
There is still room for improvement in the art.
The current invention are bands that help individuals with weight loss and muscle enhancing components. There would be different bands for parts of the body like the waist, thighs and arms.
The bands to have three layers, the layer closest to the skin has wicking ability to pull moisture away from the skin with capillary action and water repulsion that would wick away the sweat with flax fibers around the edges to ensure the bands do not leak sweat onto the rest of the body. The middle layer is a warming layer to cause the body to sweat. The third and top layer would have to have some hook and loop fashioners to make it expandable. The third layer would be an attractive, attention getting decor that people would love to show off.
The bands would have black strips that run would give the illusion of tone and fitness.
Without restricting the full scope of this invention, the preferred form of this invention is illustrated in the following drawings:
There are a number of significant design features and improvements incorporated within the invention.
The present invention are weight loss and physical fitness bands, as shown in
As shown in
The inner layer 5 has wicking ability to pull moisture away from the skin with capillary action and water repulsion that would wick away the sweat with flax fibers around the edges to ensure the bands do not leak sweat onto the rest of the body.
The middle layer 10 is a warming layer to cause the body to sweat.
The third and top layer 15 covers the other two layers and would have an expandable connecting means such as hook and loop fasteners 20. This connecting means would be at one end and connect to a receiving connection means such as hook and loop fasteners 20 on the bottom side of the opposite end of the band. The third layer 15 would have an attractive, attention getting decor that people would love to show off. The third layer 15 would have different colors and designs.
The waist band 200, as shown in
The arm bands 100, as shown in
The thigh bands 300, as shown in
The bands can be worn together and may have to same design such as color and pattern so they look like they are part of a set or each band can be used separately.
