Abstract
A weighted garment is disclosed. The weighted garment includes at least one cavity wherein one or more weighted elements may be disposed. The weighted elements comprise of ball bearings wrapped in silicone. The garment is constructed to be discreetly worn by the user during daily activities to increase caloric burn throughout the day.
Description
TECHNICAL FIELD

The embodiments generally relate to apparel and more specifically to garments having weighted attachments.

BACKGROUND

Throughout the day, humans burn calories when at rest and when performing activities. While the term “calorie” is defined in nutrition and food energy fields as a unit of energy required to raise the temperature of one kilogram of water by one degree Celsius, the unit is also used to measure energy expenditure. Increasing one's calorie expenditure throughout the day is known to provide health benefits including weight loss. However, as schedules have gotten increasingly busy, the participation in traditional means of exercise has declined.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

This summary is provided to introduce a variety of concepts in a simplified form that is disclosed further in the detailed description of the embodiments. This summary is not intended to identify key or essential inventive concepts of the claimed subject matter, nor is it intended for determining the scope of the claimed subject matter.

The embodiments described herein provide a garment having releasably attached weighted elements. The garment includes at least one cavity wherein weighted elements can be discretely placed such that the user can wear the weighted garment during daily activities. The cavity is capable of retaining a sufficient amount of the weighted element to aid the user in increasing their ability to burn calories throughout the day. Increasing caloric burn can accomplished by increasing the weight which the user caries on their body throughout the day.

In one aspect, the weighted garment includes a plurality of cavities. The user may select to position the weighted element in one or more of the plurality of cavities to selectively weight the garment. This allows the user to select their exertion level when wearing the garment.

The weighted element may include ⅛-inch ball bearings wrapped in silicone which is spread evenly through the six cavities of the garment. The ball bearings wrapped in silicone may be beneficial in retaining the discrete nature of the garment when worn. Alternatively, the weighted element may include weights disposed within the layers of fabric of the garment.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

A complete understanding of the present embodiments and the advantages and features thereof will be more readily understood by reference to the following detailed description when considered in conjunction with the accompanying drawings wherein:

FIG. 1 illustrates a front elevation view of the weighted garment, according to some embodiments; and

FIG. 2 illustrates a front elevation view of the weighted garment having a plurality of cavities, according to some embodiments.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The specific details of the single embodiment or variety of embodiments described herein are to the described apparatus. Any specific details of the embodiments are used for demonstration purposes only, and no unnecessary limitations or inferences are to be understood therefrom.

Before describing in detail exemplary embodiments, it is noted that the embodiments reside primarily in combinations of components and procedures related to the apparatus. Accordingly, the apparatus components have been represented where appropriate by conventional symbols in the drawings, showing only those specific details that are pertinent to understanding the embodiments of the present disclosure so as not to obscure the disclosure with details that will be readily apparent to those of ordinary skill in the art having the benefit of the description herein.

The specific details of the single embodiment or variety of embodiments described herein are set forth in this application. Any specific details of the embodiments are used for demonstration purposes only, and no unnecessary limitation or inferences are to be understood therefrom. Furthermore, as used herein, relational terms, such as “first” and “second,” “top” and “bottom,” and the like, may be used to distinguish one entity or element from another entity or element without necessarily requiring or implying any physical or logical relationship, or order between such entities or elements.

In general, the embodiments described herein relate to a weighted garment to aid the user in increasing caloric burn throughout the day. The weighted garment includes at least one cavity wherein weighted elements can be discretely placed such that the user can wear the weighted garment during daily activities. The cavity is capable of retaining a sufficient amount of the weighted element to aid the user in increasing their ability to burn calories throughout the day.

FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 illustrate the weighted garment 100. The weighted garment 100 may be constructed as a shirt, or other common garment known in the arts such that the user may discretely wear the weighted garment throughout the day to increase their caloric burn. The weighted garment includes at least one cavity between layers of fabric which retain a weighted element therein. The weighted garment 100 includes at least one cavity 110 wherein a weighted element is disposed.

In some embodiments, the cavity 110 may be formed between the layers of fabric which form the garment. In such, the weighted element(s) are retained between the layers of fabric and provide a discrete means of wearing the weighted garment to increase caloric burn throughout the day.

In particular, FIG. 2 illustrates a weighted garment 100 having a plurality of cavities 110 wherein the weighted element can be stored. The user may select to place weighted elements into one or more of the plurality of cavities 110 to selectively weight the garment 100 depending on their desired level of exertion. In one example, the total weight of the weighted garment 110 may be 5-pounds. However, one skilled in the arts will readily understand that various weights may be achieved while still retaining the garments discretely weighted characteristics.

In some embodiments, the weighted element is at least partially comprised of ball bearings wrapped in silicone. The ball bearings wrapped in silicone is located within at least one cavity and spread throughout the cavity to maintain the shape of the garment. In such, the ball bearings wrapped in silicone is evenly dispersed such that the weighted element is discretely contained within the garment.

In some embodiments, the weighted element includes one or more weights disposed within the at least one cavity of the garment. The weights may be sewn into the garment to retain the weights in a suitable position such that the user may discretely wear the weighted garment.

Many different embodiments have been disclosed herein, in connection with the above description and the drawings. It will be understood that it would be unduly repetitious and obfuscating to describe and illustrate every combination and subcombination of these embodiments. Accordingly, all embodiments can be combined in any way and/or combination, and the present specification, including the drawings, shall be construed to constitute a complete written description of all combinations and subcombinations of the embodiments described herein, and of the manner and process of making and using them, and shall support claims to any such combination or subcombination.

An equivalent substitution of two or more elements can be made for any one of the elements in the claims below or that a single element can be substituted for two or more elements in a claim. Although elements can be described above as acting in certain combinations and even initially claimed as such, it is to be expressly understood that one or more elements from a claimed combination can in some cases be excised from the combination and that the claimed combination can be directed to a subcombination or variation of a subcombination.

It will be appreciated by persons skilled in the art that the present embodiment is not limited to what has been particularly shown and described hereinabove. A variety of modifications and variations are possible in light of the above teachings without departing from the following claims.
