The present disclosure generally relates to the field of wigs and, in particular, to a wig and holder including a support stand and a pierceable member for removably inserting fasteners to aid in styling hairpieces and wigs.
Conventional wig holders exist that may include an aesthetically pleasing stand, but lack utility for styling a wig or hairpiece. For example, typical aesthetically pleasing wig holders do not permit the use of fasteners such as pins or clips and/or lack the ability to style wigs and/or hairpieces on the wig holder correctly. Other conventional wig holders exist that may provide some limited utility for styling a wig and/or hairpiece, but are not aesthetically pleasing (e.g., such as a mannequin head). Moreover, conventional mannequin head type wig holders are typically formed from a single material, such as Styrofoamâ„¢, and the material and/or shape of these conventional wig holders may not provide a stable base for holding and/or styling a wig or hairpiece. Moreover, people often have a wig holder displayed in a room for easy access. A wig holder that is not aesthetically pleasing lacks utility and may be unstable and undesirable.
There is a need for a wig holder stand that is structurally stable, aesthetically pleasing, and provides utility including the ability to use fasteners (e.g., pins, clips and the like) and styling pieces to set and secure one or more hairpieces and/or wigs on the wig holder.
Aspects of the present disclosure relate to a wig holder. A wig holder comprises a pierceable member shaped to hold at least one hairpiece thereon; and a support stand affixed to the pierceable member. The pierceable member is adapted to receive one or more fasteners for removable insertion into the pierceable member.
Aspects of the present disclosure also relate to methods for forming a wig holder. The method includes forming a pierceable member having a first side and a second side. The first side is shaped to hold at least one hairpiece thereon. The pierceable member is adapted to receive one or more fasteners for removable insertion into the pierceable member. The method further includes forming a support stand affixed to the pierceable member.
The disclosure can be better understood with reference to the following drawings and description. The components in the drawings are not necessarily to scale; the emphasis instead being placed upon illustrating the principles of the disclosure.
Aspects of the present disclosure relate to a wig and hairpiece holder. In some examples, the wig and hairpiece holder may include a pierceable member shaped to hold at least one hairpiece thereon and a support stand affixed to the pierceable member. The pierceable member may be adapted to receive one or more fasteners for removable insertion into the pierceable member. In some examples, the support stand may have a fixed height. In some examples, the support stand may be adapted to have a variable height. In some examples, the wig and hairpiece holder may include a member support structure affixed to a base of the pierceable member. In some examples, the support stand may be designed to be aesthetically pleasing, while providing stability and support to the pierceable member, including for holding and/or styling hairpiece(s).
As stated above, conventional wig holders are generally either aesthetically pleasing (e.g., an aesthetically pleasing stand) without providing utility for styling and correctly holding a hairpiece (e.g., does not permit the use of pins, clips or styling pieces on the wig holder) or a conventional wig holder that is not aesthetically pleasing. The disclosed wig and hairpiece holders described herein here solves at least these problems.
In an example embodiment, wig holders of the present disclosure may include a support stand that is aesthetically pleasing combined with a pierceable member (e.g., a foamed polymer, cork and the like) that may be resilient, and that permits the use of pins and clips directly into the pierceable member. In this manner, the wig holder may be adapted to hold hairpieces (including wigs, hair extensions, other types of hairpieces, stylist pieces and the like) in a substantially fixed position on the pierceable member and style the hairpiece as desired.
In contrast, conventional wig holders may either have some utility for styling and/or holding a wig or hair piece, or may be aesthetically pleasing, but lack utility for holding and styling a hairpiece.

In a non-limiting example, the total height HTOTAL of wig holder 100 may be between about 15 inches to about 19 inches. In another non-limiting example, the total height HTOTAL of wig holder 100 may be between about 13 inches to about 45 inches. In general, the total height HTOTAL may depend on a desired length of a hairpiece to be held and/or styled on wig holder 100, such that the hairpiece may be suitably arranged on wig holder 100. For example, it may be desirable for a hairpiece to be positioned on pierceable member 102 and, in some examples, extend along mounting post 104, without extending substantially below base 106.
Pierceable member 102 may include a member height (HMEMBER) and a member diameter (DMEMBER). In a non-limiting example, pierceable member 102 may include a member height HMEMBER between about 3.5 inches to about 15 inches and may include a member diameter DMEMBER between about 3 inches to about 12 inches. In general, pierceable member 102 may be formed to be sized for a head of a child, an adult, a female, a male and the like.
In some examples, pierceable member 102 may be adapted to have a fixed size (e.g., a fixed member height HMEMBER and/or fixed member diameter DMEMBER). In some examples, pierceable member 102 may be adapted to have a variable size. For example, pierceable member 102 may include an inflatable internal portion (e.g., an in inflatable internal layer, an inflatable internal region, an internal inflatable core and the like) and an external pierceable layer that is adapted to hold hairpiece(s) and support the use of any suitable fastener for securing and/or styling of hairpiece(s).

In some examples, a thickness of mounting post may vary along the length (LPOST) of mounting post 104. In a non-limiting example, mounting post 104 may include a length LPOST between about 2 inches to about 40 inches. In general, the thickness of mounting post 104 may depend on one or more structural factors of wig holder 100, including, for example, a size (e.g., HMEMBER, DMEMBER) and/or material of pierceable member 102, a length LPOST of mounting post 104, a material of mounting post 104, a size (e.g., DBASE, TBASE) of base 106, a material of base 106, a predetermined maximum weight of one or more hairpieces to be held by wig holder 100, a predetermined maximum force that may be applied to wig holder 100 (e.g., such as directly to pierceable member 102) for styling of hairpiece(s) (e.g., inserting and/or removing fasteners such as pins, clips, etc. during styling operations) and/or any combination thereof.
In one example, base 106 may be disk-shaped, and may include a thickness (TBASE) and a diameter (DBASE). In one non-limiting example, the thickness TBASE of base 106 may be between about 3 mm to about 12 mm. In another example, the thickness TBASE may be greater than or equal to about 1.5 mm. In one example, the diameter DBASE of base 106 may be greater than or equal to about 0.4 inches. In general, base 106 may be of any suitable dimensions such that base 106 may provide suitable stability of wig holder 100. In general, the dimensions of base 106 may depend on one or more structural factors of wig holder 100, including, for example, a size (e.g., HMEMBER, DMEMBER) and/or material of pierceable member 102, a length LPOST and/or thickness of mounting post 104, a material of mounting post 104, a material of base 106, a predetermined maximum weight of one or more hairpieces to be held by wig holder 100, a predetermined maximum force that may be applied to wig holder 100 (e.g., such as directly to pierceable member 102) for styling of hairpiece(s) (e.g., inserting and/or removing fasteners such as pins, clips, etc. during styling operations) and/or any combination thereof.
In general, wig stands of the present disclosure (such as wig holder 100) may be formed to be aesthetically pleasing (e.g., support stand 108 may be formed to be aesthetically pleasing) as together with added utility. For example, pierceable member 102 may provide the ability to hold and/or style a hairpiece, including the ability to insert fasteners (such as pins, clips). In this manner, wig holder 100 may provide a classy, clean and aesthetically pleasing piece to store and/or display a wig or hairpiece, with the ability to put pins, clips, fasteners and/or other suitable styling materials into pierceable member 102.
