Claims
- 1. A window, in particular for an automobile, intended to be adhesively bonded to a frame of a window opening, comprising:
a pane; an adhesive bead; a profiled bead coupled to a surface of the pane and comprising a longitudinally extending recess; a tear-away cord configured and dimensioned for breaking an adhesive bond between the pane and the frame, the tear-away cord being disposed in the recess; and a contact region defined between the adhesive bead and the pane; wherein the contact region has a width bounded by the profiled bead, and the recess is open toward the contact region.
- 2. The window of claim 1, wherein a portion of the profiled bead is covered by the adhesive bead and the recess is disposed adjacent the contact region.
- 3. The window of claim 2, wherein the portion of the profiled bead comprises a ramp extending from proximate the recess toward the surface of the pane.
- 4. The window of claim 1, wherein the profiled bead, adhesive bead, and tear-away cord comprise materials that do not adhere to one another.
- 5. The window of claim 1, wherein the profiled bead is made of a thermoplastic elastomer and the adhesive bead is made of a polyurethane.
- 6. The window of claim 1, wherein the tear-away cord extends through the adhesive bead in at least one location to establish a purchase point.
- 7. The window of claim 1, wherein the tear-away cord is completely enclosed between the profiled bead and the adhesive bead, and the adhesive bead is provided with at least one mark defining a location for positioning a purchase point on the tear-away cord.
- 8. The window of claim 1, wherein the profiled bead further comprises an elastically deformable lip extending beyond an edge of the pane.
- 9. The window of claim 1, wherein the profiled bead is formed in situ by extrusion or injection molding onto the pane.
- 10. The window of claim 1, wherein the profiled bead is prefabricated and adhesively bonded to the pane.
- 11. A window for disposing in a vehicle frame, comprising:
a pane; an adhesive bead; a profiled bead coupled to a surface of the pane and comprising a recess and a ramp extending from proximate the recess; and a tear-away cord disposed in the recess; wherein the adhesive bead covers the ramp and adheres to the pane.
- 12. The window of claim 11, wherein the adhesive bead does not adhere to the ramp.
- 13. The window of claim 11, wherein the profiled bead is disposed proximate an edge of the pane.
- 14. The window of claim 11, wherein the pane is formed of glass.
- 15. The window of claim 11, further comprising an opaque border strip disposed between the adhesive bead and pane.
- 16. The window of claim 15, wherein the strip comprises a baked material.
- 17. The window of claim 11, further comprising a border strip disposed between the profiled bead and pane.
- 18. The window of claim 11, wherein the profiled bead is formed of an extruded polymer.
- 19. The window of claim 11, wherein the profiled bead is formed of an injection molded polymer.
- 20. The window of claim 11, wherein the profiled bead is prefabricated and adhesively bonded to the pane.
- 21. The window of claim 11, wherein the pane comprises an outer edge and the recess opens in a direction away from the outer edge.
- 22. The window of claim 11, wherein the pane comprises an outer edge, and the profiled bead is disposed closer to the outer edge than the adhesive bead.
- 23. The window of claim 11, wherein the tear-away cord contacts the adhesive bead.
- 24. The window of claim 11, wherein the tear-away cord passes through the adhesive bead in at least one location.
- 25. The window of claim 11, wherein the profiled bead is formed of a thermoplastic elastomer.
- 26. The window of claim 11, wherein the adhesive bead is formed of polyurethane.
- 27. The window of claim 11, wherein the recess comprises a reverse taper.
- 28. The window of claim 11, wherein the profiled bead further comprises a lip.
- 29. The window of claim 11, wherein the recess is completely covered by the adhesive bead.
- 30. The window of claim 11, wherein the ramp is disposed at an obtuse angle with respect to an adjacent portion of the profiled bead.
