Claims
- 1. A production method for extruding molding sections to be fitted along a periphery of a windshield glass, which comprises:
- extruding said molding sections by using a support leg and decorative portion forming die having an opening for extruding a support leg for being inserted into a space between the windshield glass and a window frame of a body and also extruding a decorative portion through a second opening of said support leg and decorative portion forming die, said decorative portion covering a space from outside the molding sections,
- increasing, at least during production of one of the molding sections, an area of the first extrusion opening on said support leg and decorative portion forming die for extruding said support leg and forming an enlarged thickened section between an outer surface of the windshield glass and the decorative portion,
- moving a rainwater groove forming die into an extended section of the first extrusion opening on said support leg and decorative portion forming die with specified timing so as to form a rainwater groove on a side wall of said enlarged thickened section, and changing a depth dimension of the rainwater groove on said side wall by moving said rainwater groove forming die during extrusion so as to make the rainwater groove shallower and be discontinued at an end section of the side molding section.
- 2. The production method as in claimed in claim 1, wherein the support leg has a reduced thickened section between an outer surface of the windshield glass and the decorative portion in the end section of the side molding section.
- 3. The production method as in claimed in claim 1, which includes the step of decreasing, during production of side molding section, an area of the first extrusion opening on said support leg and decorative portion forming die for extruding said support leg to provide a reduced thickened section between an outer surface of the windshield glass and the decorative portion.
- 4. A production method for extruding molding sections to be fitted along a periphery of a windshield glass, which comprises:
- extruding said molding sections by using a support leg and decorative portion forming die having a first opening for extruding a support leg for being inserted into a space between the windshield glass and a window frame of a body and also extending a decorative portion through a second opening of the support leg and decorative portion forming die, said decorative portion covering a space from outside the molding sections,
- wherein said molding sections comprise a first molding section not including a rainwater groove, a second molding section including a rainwater groove, and a third molding section not including a rainwater groove, wherein
- said first molding section is extruded solely from an area of the first extrusion opening on said support leg and decorative portion forming die to provide a specified thickened section between an outer surface of the windshield glass and the decorative portion,
- said second molding section is extruded by inserting a rainwater groove forming die into the area of the first extrusion opening on said support leg and decorative portion forming die with specified timing so as to form a rainwater groove on a side wall of the support leg, and
- said third molding section is extruded solely from an area of the first extrusion opening on said support leg and decorative portion forming die, without utilizing said rainwater groove forming die, for extruding said support leg with specified timing so as not to form the rainwater groove on a side wall of the support leg.
- 5. The production method as in claimed in claim 4, wherein during extrusion of the third molding section, the support leg and decorative portion forming die for forming an outer surface of the decorative portion and the rainwater groove forming die for forming the surface attached to the windshield glass of the support leg is closed.
- 6. The production method as in claimed in claim 5, wherein during extrusion of the second molding section, the support leg and decorative portion forming die for forming an outer surface of the decorative portion and a die for forming the surface attached to the windshield glass of the support leg are positioned away from each other in comparison with extrusion of the first molding section.
- 7. The production method as in claimed in claim 4, wherein the first, second and third molding sections respectively correspond to an end of the side molding section, a central section of the side molding and an upper molding section to be fitted along an upper periphery of the windshield glass.
- 8. The production method as in claimed in claim 4, wherein the molding occurs by use in order of the first, second and third molding section.
- 9. The production method as in claimed in claim 4, wherein the rainwater groove forming die is gradually inserted into the area of the opening on the die for the support leg when starting the production of the second molding section.
- 10. The production method as in claimed in claim 4, wherein the rainwater groove forming die is gradually shifted away from the area of the opening on the support leg and decorative portion forming die for the support leg when ending the production of the second molding section.
- 11. A production method for extruding molding sections to be fitted along a periphery of a windshield glass, which comprises:
- extruding said molding sections by using a support leg and decorative portion forming die having a first opening for extruding a support leg for being inserted into a space between the windshield glass and a window frame of a body and extruding a decorative portion through a second opening of the support leg and decorative portion forming die, said decorative portion covering a space from outside the molding sections,
- wherein said molding sections comprise a third molding section not including a rainwater groove, a second molding section including a rainwater groove, and a first molding section not including a rainwater groove, said third molding section is extruded solely from an area of the first extrusion opening on said support leg and decorative portion forming die for extruding said support leg to provide a specified thickened section between an outer surface of the windshield glass and the decorative portion,
- said second molding section is extruded by moving a rainwater groove forming die into the first area of the extrusion opening on said support leg and decorative portion forming die for the support leg with specified timing so as to form a rainwater groove on a side wall of the support leg, and
- said first molding section is extruded by being shifted away from the rainwater groove forming die from an area of the first extrusion opening on said support leg and decorative portion forming die for extruding said support leg with specified timing so as not to form the rainwater groove on a side wall of the support leg.
