Claims
- 1. A method of shielding a wire from electromagnetic waves, comprising:
- providing a shield member, including an insulating layer and a metal foil layer laminated on said insulating layer, and formed into a band-like shape;
- positioning said wire on said metal foil layer in a longitudinal direction of said shield member;
- circumscribing said wire partially by said shield member;
- leading said wire out from said shield member at a desired position;
- forming an earth terminal out of said shield member, comprising:
- folding back a distal end portion of said shield member along a width direction to expose a part of said metal foil layer and to form an exposed portion;
- folding said exposed portion in said longitudinal direction of said shield member; and
- grounding said exposed portion of said shield member.
- 2. The method of shielding a wire of claim 1, wherein said step of folding back a distal end portion of said shield member along a width direction includes folding back a distal end portion of said shield member along a width direction so that said insulating layer is folded back upon itself at said distal end to thereby expose a part of said metal foil layer.
- 3. The method of shielding a wire of claim 1, further comprising forming a hole in said exposed portion before grounding said exposed portion of said shield member.
- 4. The method of shielding a wire of claim 3, wherein said grounding of said exposed portion of said shield member further comprises fixing said exposed portion of said shield member to a grounded body by a fixing member through said hole.
- 5. A method of shielding a wire from electromagnetic waves, comprising:
- providing a shield member, including an insulating layer and a metal foil layer laminated on said insulating layer, in a sheet like form;
- positioning said wire on said metal foil layer in a longitudinal direction of said shield member;
- folding a first portion of said shield member along said longitudinal direction to circumscribe a portion of said wire, wherein said metal foil layer forms an inner surface of a wire shield structure and said insulating layer forms an outer surface of said wire shield structure;
- leading another portion of said wire out from said shield member at a desired position;
- forming an earth terminal out of a second portion of said shield member, said forming step further comprising:
- folding back a distal end portion of said shield member along a width of said shield member so as to dispose said metal foil layer on an outer surface of said wire shield structure;
- folding said distal end portion and remaining said second portion of said shield member along said longitudinal direction of said shield member; and
- fixing said distal end portion to thereby form a substantially flat folded structure having an exposed said metal foil layer on an outer surface thereof; and
- grounding said earth terminal.
- 6. A method of shielding a wire as claimed in claim 5, further comprising a step of forming a hole through said earth terminal before grounding said earth terminal.
- 7. A method of shielding a wire as claimed in claim 6, further comprising a step of fixing said earth terminal to a grounded body by a fixing member through said hole.
- 8. A method of shielding a wire from electromagnetic waves, comprising:
- providing a shield member, including an insulating layer and a metal foil layer laminated on said insulating layer, in a sheet like form;
- positioning said wire on said metal foil layer in a longitudinal direction of said shield member;
- folding a first portion of said shield member along said longitudinal direction to circumscribe a portion of said wire, wherein said metal foil layer forms an inner surface of a wire shield structure and said insulating layer forms an outer surface of said wire shield structure;
- leading another portion of said wire out from said shield member at a desired position;
- forming an earth terminal out of a second portion of said shield member, said forming step further comprising:
- folding back a distal end portion of said shield member along a width of said shield member and onto a remaining portion of said second portion so as to fold a distal end portion of said insulating layer back onto a remaining portion of said insulating layer;
- folding said distal end portion and said remaining portion of said second portion of said shield member along said longitudinal direction of said shield member so that said metal foil layer on said distal end portion is exposed and so that said metal foil layer on said remaining portion of said second portion is folded onto itself; and
- fixing said distal end portion to thereby form a substantially flat folded structure; and
- grounding said earth terminal.
