Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a wood plank hook, especially to a wood plank hook that has a reinforcing sleeve for firmly fixing on the wall and enhancing structural strength.

2. Description of the Prior Arts

A conventional wood plank hook is fixed on a wall by screws fastened through a wood plank. However, the conventional wood plank hook has the following disadvantages.

1. When the screws are driven through the wood plank, the screws break the structure of the wood plank, such that the engagement between the screws and the wood plank will loosen after a long term of use.

2. The loading capability of the wood plank is already low (about 350 LBS), and will be lower after the engagement loosens, which might lead to deformation of the screw holes on the wood plank formed by the screws and even cause the wood plank to come off the screws and fall.

3. Over-pressing the wood plank toward the wall by the screw head during installation might damage the wood plank.

4. In the conventional wood plank hook, after fixing the wood plank on the wall, the screw head bumps from an outer surface of the wood plank and is covered by a cover, but this breaks the flat and appealing appearance of the conventional wood plank hook, and the cover is easy to fall off and get lost.

5. The wood plank is a single component formed integrally, so the color is monotonous.

To overcome the shortcomings, the present invention provides a wood plank hook with a reinforcing sleeve to mitigate or obviate the aforementioned problems.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The main objective of the present invention is to provide a wood plank hook that has a reinforcing sleeve for overcoming the abovementioned disadvantages of the conventional wood plank hook and making the appearance more beautiful.

The wood plank hook has a plank body, multiple hook units, at least one reinforcing sleeve, and at least one fixing unit. The plank body is made of wood and has a first surface, a second surface, and at least one assembling hole. The second surface is opposite to the first surface. A direction from the first surface to the second surface is defined as a wall direction. The at least one assembling hole is formed through the first surface and the second surface. The hook units are mounted on the first surface. The at least one reinforcing sleeve is respectively mounted in the at least one assembling hole. Each of the at least one reinforcing sleeve has a cylinder segment and a flange segment. The cylinder segment is mounted in the respective one of the at least one assembling hole. The flange segment is formed on an end of the cylinder segment and abuts the plank body along the wall direction. The at least one fixing unit is respectively mounted through the at least one reinforcing sleeve. Each of the at least one fixing unit has a rod segment and a head segment. The rod segment is mounted through the cylinder segment of the respective one of the at least one reinforcing sleeve. The head segment is formed on an end of the rod segment and abuts the respective one of the at least one reinforcing sleeve along the wall direction, such that the flange segment of the at least one reinforcing sleeve presses the plank body along the wall direction.

The wood plank hook of the present invention has the following advantages.

1. The fixing unit is just mounted through the reinforcing sleeve and the assembling hole that is already formed on the plank body instead of driven through and screwed with the plank body, so the structure of the plank body will not be broken, which avoids loosening.

2. The reinforcing sleeve is mounted between the fixing unit, which means the plank body is loaded on and abuts the fixing unit via the reinforcing sleeve. Therefore, the reinforcing sleeve supports the structure of the assembling hole and prevents the assembling hole from deformation, which saves the plank body from the risk of falling and increases the loading capability of the plank body to about 500 LBS.

3. The plank body gets a better protection because the head segment of the fixing unit presses the reinforcing sleeve and then the flange segment of the reinforcing sleeve presses the plank body to a wall, such that the head segment will never directly over-press the plank body, thereby avoiding damaging the plank body during installation.

4. Since the plank body and the reinforcing sleeve are independent components, the color of the reinforcing sleeve can be implemented different from the color of the plank body to diversify the colors of the overall appearance and to match the preferred styles of different users.

To sum up, the reinforcing sleeve is mounted in the assembling hole of the plank body, and the fixing unit fixes the plank body on the wall via the reinforcing sleeve, so the plank body can be fixed on the wall much more firmly and be prevented from separating from the fixing unit and falling due to overloading or long term of use.

Other objectives, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

With reference to FIGS. 1 and 2, in a preferred embodiment, a wood plank hook in accordance with the present invention comprises a plank body 10, multiple hook units 20, at least one reinforcing sleeve 30, and at least one fixing unit 40.

With reference to FIGS. 2 and 3, the plank body 10 is made of wood and has a first surface 11, a second surface 12, at least one assembling hole 13, and at least one flange recess 14. The second surface 12 is opposite to the first surface 11 and is adapted to abut a wall. A direction from the first surface 11 to the second surface 12 is defined as a wall direction D1. The at least one assembling hole 13 is formed through the first surface 11 and the second surface 12. The at least one flange recess 14 is formed on the first surface 11. The at least one assembling hole 13 is respectively located in the center of the at least one flange recess 14. One of the at least one flange recess 14 has one of the at least one assembling hole 13 formed therein. The at least one assembling hole 13 and the at least one flange recess 14 can be formed by, but not limited to, drill bits drilling the plank body 10. Drilling the plank body 10 by drill bits causes less damage to a structure of the plank body 10 than directly driving a screw through the plank body 10.

Multiple hook units 20 are mounted on the first surface 11.

With reference to FIGS. 3 to 6, the at least one reinforcing sleeve 30 is respectively mounted in the at least one assembling hole 13. Each of the at least one reinforcing sleeve 30 has a cylinder segment 31, a flange segment 32, and an inner conical surface 33.

The cylinder segment 31 is mounted in the respective one of the at least one assembling hole 13. In this embodiment, a length of the cylinder segment 31 is larger than half of a depth of the at least one assembling hole 13, and an outer annular surface of the cylinder segment 31 fits an inner annular surface of the at least one assembling hole 13, so the at least one reinforcing sleeve 30 supports the plank body 10 and strengthens the structural strength better, but the configuration of the cylinder segment 31 is not limited to the abovementioned.

The flange segment 32 is formed on an end of the cylinder segment 31 and abuts the plank body 10 along the wall direction D1. The flange segment 32 of the at least one reinforcing sleeve 30 is respectively located in the at least one flange recess 14. The inner conical surface 33 is formed on the flange segment 32 and connects an end surface of the flange segment 32 and an inner wall of the cylinder segment 31.

The at least one fixing unit 40 is each mounted through a respective one of the at least one reinforcing sleeve 30. Each of the at least one fixing unit has a rod segment 41, a head segment 42, and an outer conical surface 43.

The rod segment 41 is mounted through the cylinder segment 31 of the respective one of the at least one reinforcing sleeve 30. The head segment 42 is formed on an end of the rod segment 41 and abuts the respective one of the at least one reinforcing sleeve 30 along the wall direction D1, such that the flange segment 32 of the at least one reinforcing sleeve 30 presses the plank body 10 along the wall direction D1. The outer conical surface 43 is formed on the head segment 42 and abuts the inner conical surface 33 of the respective one of the at least one reinforcing sleeve 30.

Additionally, in this embodiment, the end surface of the flange segment 32 is flat with an end surface of the head segment 42 of the respective one of the at least one fixing unit 40, and the end surface of the flange segment 32 of the at least one reinforcing sleeve 30 is flat with the first surface 11 of the plank body 10. In other words, the end surface of the at least one reinforcing sleeve 30, the end surface of the at least one fixing unit 40, and the first surface 11 of the plank body 10 are flat with each other, which means the head segment 42 and the flange segment 32 do not bump from the first surface 11 of the plank body 10, thereby keeping the appearance flat and appealing, and eliminating the need for an additional cover.

Furthermore, in this embodiment, an amount of the at least one assembling hole 13 is two, an amount of the at least one reinforcing sleeve 30 is two, and an amount of the at least one fixing unit 40 is two. The two reinforcing sleeves 30 are respectively mounted in the two assembling holes 13, and the two fixing units 40 are respectively mounted in the two reinforcing sleeves 30.

The wood plank hook of the present invention has the following advantages.

1. The fixing unit 40 is just mounted through the reinforcing sleeve 30 and the assembling hole 13 that is already formed on the plank body 10 instead of driven through and screwed with the plank body 10, so the structure of the plank body 10 will not be broken, which avoids loosening.

2. The reinforcing sleeve 30 is mounted between the fixing unit 40, which means the plank body 10 is loaded on and abuts the fixing unit 40 via the reinforcing sleeve 30. Therefore, the reinforcing sleeve 30 supports the structure of the assembling hole 13 and prevents the assembling hole 13 from deformation, which saves the plank body 10 from the risk of falling and increases the loading capability of the plank body 10 to about 500 LBS.

3. The plank body 10 gets a better protection because the head segment 42 of the fixing unit 40 presses the reinforcing sleeve 30 and then the flange segment 32 of the reinforcing sleeve 30 presses the plank body 10 to a wall, such that the head segment 42 will never directly over-press the plank body 10, thereby avoiding damaging the plank body 10 during installation.

4. Since the plank body 10 and the reinforcing sleeve 30 are independent components, the color of the reinforcing sleeve 30 can be implemented different from the color of the plank body 10 to diversify the color of the overall appearance and to match the preferred styles of different users.

5. The head segment 42 and the flange segment 32 do not bump from the first surface 11 of the plank body 10, thereby keeping the appearance flat and appealing, and eliminating the need for an additional cover.

To sum up, the reinforcing sleeve 30 is mounted in the assembling hole of the plank body 10, and the fixing unit 40 fixes the plank body 10 on the wall via the reinforcing sleeve 30, so the plank body 10 can be fixed on the wall much more firmly and be prevented from separating from the fixing unit and falling due to overloading or long term of use.
