Claims
- 1. In a clamping means for clamping workpieces on a pallet for use in a transfer machine, the combination comprising:
- (a) an elongated support bar;
- (b) means for attaching said support bar to a pallet;
- (c) an elongated clamp bar having a clamp nose on one end thereof for engagement with a workpiece on the pallet to clamp the workpiece to the pallet;
- (d) fulcrum means supported by said support bar and engaged with the other end of said elongated clamp bar;
- (e) clamp screw means interconnecting said elongated clamp bar with sad support bar at a point between said clamp nose and fulcrum means;
- (f) said elongated clamp bar is provided with a longitudinally extended recess on the lower side thereof and toward said other end thereof;
- (g) said fulcrum means comprises a fulcrum clamp screw having a central body portion slidably mounted in a bore formed through the support bar, a head portion on the upper end thereof slidably mounted in said longitudinal recess in the lower side of said elongated clamp bar, and a lower end adjustably mounted in the outer end of the elongated support bar;
- (h) the outer end of said support bar is bifurcated and includes means for forcing the parts of said bifurcated end together to retain said fulcrum clamp screw in fixed position in said support bar; and
- (i) means for retaining said clamp screw means in said support bar against longitudinal movement relative to said support bar.
- 2. In a clamping means for clamping workpieces on a pallet for use in a transfer machine, the combination comprising:
- (a) a support body, said support body being in the shape of a rectangular block;
- (b) a locating shaft integrally formed on said support body and adapted to extend inwardly into a bore of a pallet from the vertical surface on which said support body is seated;
- (c) said support body having an integral outwardly extending support bar, said support bar being bifurcated at the outer end;
- (d) means for attaching said support body to a pallet;
- (e) a clamp screw slidably mounted in said support bar;
- (f) a fulcrum screw having one end threadedly mounted in a bore of said support bar, perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of said support bar, and having a screw head at the other end;
- (g) a clamp bar mounted parallel to the longitudinal axis of said support bar, said clamp bar held in position by said clamp screw;
- (h) said clamp bar having longitudinally extending slots and form a T-shaped slot for retaining said fulcrum screw head in the inner side of said clamp bar;
- (i) the outer end of said support bar is bifurcated and includes means for forcing the parts of said bifurcated end together to retain the fulcrum clamp screw in fixed position in the support bar; and
- (j) means for retaining said clamp screw in said support bar against longitudinal movement relative to the support bar.
