Claims
- 1. A warp knitted fabric for use as a surgical bandage and dressing comprising four yarns arranged in a plurality of wales and causes including a first yarn comprising a basic stitch construction (L1) and second, third, and fourth yarns bound in as in-laid threads (L2, L3, L4), said fourth yarn consisting of a thick, roughened binding yarn of high volume bound in warpwise, said second and third yarns consisting of cross filling long looped, highly twisted yarns of sinuous configuration having a twist of one of the Z-twisting direction and S-twisting direction, one of said second and third yarns being bound in between two adjacent wales and the other of said second and third yarns being bound in between three adjacent wales.
- 2. A fabric according to claim 1 wherein said four yarns consist of a staple fiber.
- 3. A fabric according to claim 2 wherein said staple fiber is bleached cotton.
- 4. A fabric according to claim 1 wherein said basic stitch construction is an open chain stitch with one of a 2.0-0.2 lap.
- 5. A fabric according to claim 1 wherein said basic stitch construction is a closed chain stitch of a 2.0 lap.
- 6. A fabric according to claim 1 wherein said basic stitch construction is a closed tricot stitch with one of 2.0-0.4 lap.
- 7. A fabric according to claim 1 wherein said basic stitch construction is a open tricot stitch of 2.0-2.4 lap.
- 8. A fabric according to claim 1 wherein the size of said first yarn forming said basic stitch construction (L1) is Nm 40/1, wherein the size of said second yarn forming one of said in-laid threads (L2) is Nm 40/1, wherein the size of said third yarn forming another of said in-laid threads (L3) is Nm 34/2, and wherein the size of said fourth yarn forming another of said in-laid threads (L4) is Nm 40/1.
- 9. A fabric according to claim 1 wherein the size of said first yarn forming said basic stitch construction (L1) is Nm 40/1, wherein the size of said second yarn forming one of said in-laid threads (L2) is Nm 40/1, wherein the size of said third yarn forming another of said in-laid threads (L3) is Nm 40/2, and wherein the size of said fourth yarn forming another of said in-laid threads (L4) is Nm 40/1.
