Description
BACKGROUND
Technical Field

The present disclosure relates to a wrapping material for packaged goods, in some cases for a foodstuff, in some other cases for a fast-food foodstuff. Furthermore, the disclosure relates to a stack comprising a plurality of wrapping materials according to the present disclosure. Moreover, the present disclosure relates to the use of the wrapping material according to the present disclosure for the packaging of foodstuffs.

Description of the Related Art

Wrapping papers for foodstuffs have been in use for a long time both in the private and in the commercial field, for example in order to wrap foodstuffs such as cheese or sausage. Wrapping papers are accordingly regularly found in butcher shops and delicatessen and fish shops. These wrapping papers are usually configured to be grease-resistant. In the case of the mentioned wrapping papers, these have to be adapted in size and format to the foodstuff to be packaged.

In contrast, up to now folded boxes made of paper or cardboard have usually been used for the packaging of ready-to-eat cooked or warmed-up foodstuffs such as burgers or pizzas. Such packages are adapted in size to the foodstuff to be packaged. Their production is complicated in terms of production technology and not seldom material-intensive. Such product packaging also sometimes has viewing windows made of plastic film. As a result, a pure-grade recycling is made difficult or impossible.

BRIEF SUMMARY

It would be desirable to be able to use wrapping papers which are distinguished by a very broad range of applications. There is accordingly a need to overcome the disadvantages of the prior art and in some other cases to allow a complication-free wrapping of any ready-to-eat foodstuffs and dishes.

Accordingly, a wrapping material for packaged goods, in some cases for a foodstuff, and in some even other cases for a fast-food foodstuff, was found, comprising

    • i) a wrapping film or a wrapping paper, in some cases a wrapping paper, having an inner side and an outer side facing away from the inner side, a first edge and an opposite second edge as well as a mutually opposite first side edge and a second side edge, which extend from the first edge to the second edge, and
    • ii) a material strip, in some cases a sleeve, present on the outer side of the wrapping film or of the wrapping paper, in some cases of the wrapping paper, having a first end and an opposite second end, which extends starting with the first end from the first edge or spaced apart from the first edge to the second edge or in the direction of the second edge,
    • wherein the wrapping film or the wrapping paper, in some cases the wrapping paper, has a folding or crease line extending from the first side edge or spaced apart from the first side edge up to the opposite side edge or in the direction of the second side edge, which is spaced closer to the first edge than to the second edge.

Due to the fact that the folding or crease line has to lie closer to the first edge than to the second edge of the wrapping film or of the wrapping paper, this wrapping film or this wrapping paper is divided into a shorter first section and a longer second section. Hereby, this first section regularly has a smaller area than the second section.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

In the sense of the disclosure, a crease is to be present when it has been produced with the aid of a tool provided for this purpose or a machine provided for this purpose. Such mechanically produced creases are regularly configured in the form of a kinked edge. If such a kinked edge is produced without the aid of a tool, a fold is to be understood in the sense of the present disclosure. The fold or crease is in some cases attached to the inner side of the wrapping film or of the wrapping paper, in some cases of the wrapping paper, or is present on this inner side. The inner side in the sense of the present disclosure is to be understood as that side which faces away from the material strip or the sleeve.

By providing the wrapping film, in some cases the wrapping paper, with a material strip, in some cases with a sleeve, this can have a neutral appearance, while the material strip can be printed or otherwise configured. Due to the fact that the wrapping film, some cases the wrapping paper, of the wrapping material according to the present disclosure does not have to be printed or colored, no special format specifications are regularly to be observed with regard to the wrapping film or the wrapping paper. In order to give the wrapping material according to the present disclosure a characteristic impression, it is sufficient to resort to a colored or printed material strip. This can be produced separately and attached to the wrapping film or the wrapping paper after completion. This procedure enables flexible production of multifaceted material strips coupled with simple stocking of a comprehensible selection of wrapping films or wrapping papers.

Due to printing technology, a narrow edge region often remains unprinted or white at one end of the material strip or the sleeve, i.e., in the color of the base material of the material strip. The side of the material strip, in some cases of the sleeve, printed incompletely in this way is selected according to the present disclosure such that it is present in a section at or in the region of the first end of the material strip or the sleeve. Accordingly, it can in some cases be provided that the printed inner side of the material strip, in some cases of the sleeve, is unprinted or white in a section at or in the region of the first end. According to the teaching of the present disclosure, it is provided that the second end of the material strip coincides with the second edge of the wrapping paper or the wrapping film or that the second end of the material strip and the second edge of the wrapping paper or the wrapping film are aligned identically. In interaction with the folding or crease line, it is ensured in this way that the unprinted or white region is always covered by the material of the wrapping paper or the wrapping film during wrapping or packaging of the packaged goods, in some cases of the foodstuff. This is because, by providing a folding or crease line, which is additionally present closer to the first edge than to the second edge of the wrapping paper or the wrapping film, the packaged goods, such as a burger, is placed on the longer or larger-area second section of the wrapping paper or the wrapping film adjacent to the folding or crease line. Hereby, the second section is placed or wound over the shorter first section lying at the bottom. The packaged product thus always has an immaculate, flawless appearance. Thus, the appreciation of the packaged product is no longer affected by packaging that is not completely immaculate.

In an expedient embodiment, the wrapping film of the wrapping material according to the present disclosure constitutes a plastic film or is substantially made thereof. In some cases, the wrapping paper is selected from the group consisting of parchment paper, parchment substitute paper, grease-proof paper or oil-coated paper, in some other cases from palm oil-coated paper, and paraffin-coated paper. Alternatively, one can also use conventional or untreated paper as well as recycling paper for the wrapping paper.

For the material strip, in some cases r the sleeve, one in some cases uses paper, such as recycling paper, or plastic, in some cases paper. Suitable grammages for the wrapping paper are in the range of 20 to 100 g/m2. The thickness of the wrapping film is expediently in the range of 5 to 100 μm. In expedient embodiments, the material strip has a grammage in the range of 20 to 150 g/m2. For the wrapping film, one in some cases uses polyolefin films, such as polyethylene films. Here, so-called coextruded films can also be used.

The material strip or the sleeve is in some cases arranged centered between the first and the second side edge. The width of the material strip is expediently less than the shortest distance between the first and the second side edge, in some cases less than half as wide and in some other cases at most one third as wide as this shortest distance.

The folding or crease line of the wrapping paper or of the wrapping film in some cases runs substantially parallel, in some cases parallel, to the first edge or substantially parallel, in some cases parallel, to the second edge. Highly expediently, the folding or crease line of the wrapping paper or of the wrapping film in some cases runs substantially parallel, in some cases parallel, to the first edge and substantially parallel, in some cases parallel, to the second edge. In the two embodiments mentioned above, the folding or crease line of the wrapping paper or of the wrapping film in some cases runs perpendicular to the first or second side edge as well as in some other cases perpendicular to the first and second side edge. The basic shape of the wrapping paper and of the wrapping film in some cases constitutes a square or a rectangle for many applications, wherein the rectangular basic shape is expedient for many packaged goods, such as foodstuffs. In order to ensure a highly reliable and complete packaging, it has proven advantageous that the folding or crease line extends from the first side edge up to the opposite second side edge.

Furthermore, a reliable packaging can also be ensured in that the folding or crease line has a distance from the first edge which is in the range of ⅛ to 4/9, in some cases to ⅖, of the extension between the first and second edge. For many applications, it has proven expedient for the embodiments mentioned above if the distance from the folding or crease line up to the first edge of the wrapping paper or of the wrapping film is in the range of 8 to 16 cm, in some cases in the range of 10 to 12 cm. The width of the wrapping paper and of the wrapping film, i.e., the shortest distance between the first and second side edge, can be varied within wide ranges and adapted to the size of the packaged goods, in some cases of the foodstuff, so that a complete packaging is still always successful. Of course, the length of the wrapping paper or of the wrapping film can also be varied within wide ranges, in some cases taking into account the size of the respective packaged goods.

The material strip, in some cases the sleeve, is in some cases attached to the outer side of the wrapping film and in some cases of the wrapping paper. For many applications, it has proven expedient to glue the material strip, in some cases the sleeve, to the outer side of the wrapping film or of the wrapping paper. This can surprisingly also be integrated into a fully automated mass production process.

With the present disclosure, the material strip, in some cases the sleeve, is in some cases printed, e.g., on the side facing away from the outer side of the wrapping paper or of the wrapping film. In this way, the graphic configuration or the printing of the wrapping film or of the wrapping paper can be omitted. Rather, it is sufficient to print only the side of the material strip, in some cases of the sleeve, facing away from the outer side of the wrapping paper or of the wrapping film, or to otherwise configure or provide it with a color and/or with a pattern.

For many applications, it has proven expedient that the material strip, in some cases the sleeve, is arranged substantially centered or even centered between the first and second side edge. In this way, a visually appealing packaging of a foodstuff regularly is achieved. In this way, a highly stabilized packaging is also achieved. In addition, the fingers of the user are also reliably protected against liquid possibly leaking through the wrapping paper during the handling of the packaged foodstuff.

A visually highly appealing and also highly user-friendly wrapping material can also be obtained in that the material strip, in some cases the sleeve, extends from the first edge up to the second edge of the wrapping paper.

The wrapping material according to the present disclosure can be used for manual and also for automated packaging of a packaged good, such as a foodstuff. As a result of the folding or folding, the packaged good can be aligned on precisely this, which is accompanied by a very high repeatability of the packaging. This generally has a highly positive effect on the visual appearance and the stability of the packaging. Furthermore, the time which is regularly required for packaging the packaged good can be shortened by means of the folding or crease already present in the wrapping material according to the present disclosure.

The present disclosure furthermore provides a stack comprising a plurality of wrapping materials according to the present disclosure. In one embodiment, the wrapping materials combined in this stack are present completely spread out over one another, wherein the fold or crease has already been attached beforehand. Alternatively, it can be provided that the wrapping materials according to the present disclosure are already present in the stack folded over one another along the fold or crease. Hereby, in one embodiment, it can be provided that the wrapping materials present folded along the fold or crease are arranged equally aligned over one another. Alternatively, it can be provided that the wrapping materials present folded along the fold or crease are present alternately stacked over one another in each case rotated by 180°. This rotation by 180° can take place alternately both sheet by sheet of the wrapping material and also alternately in layers to two or more sheets.

Further features and advantages of the present disclosure result from the following description, in which exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure are explained by way of example with reference to schematic drawings, without thereby limiting the present disclosure.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

FIG. 1 shows a first embodiment of a wrapping material 1 according to the present disclosure. This wrapping material can be used, for example, for the packaging of ready-to-eat processed foodstuffs such as fast-food foodstuffs. The wrapping material 1 according to the present disclosure according to the embodiment depicted in FIG. 1 comprises a wrapping paper 2, the outer side 12 of which faces the observer. This wrapping paper 2 has a first edge 14 and an opposite second edge 16 as well as mutually opposite first and second side edges 18 and 20. These extend in the depicted embodiment from the first to the second edge 14 or 16. The first edge 14 and the second edge 16 constitute the narrow sides in the depicted embodiment of the wrapping material 1 according to the present disclosure.

The wrapping material 1 according to the present disclosure furthermore includes a material strip 22 present on the outer side of the wrapping paper 2 in the form of a sleeve in any case completely printed on the outer side. This sleeve has a first end 24 and an opposite second end 26 as well as a first side edge 34 and an opposite side edge 36. The material strip or the sleeve 22 accordingly extends with its first end 24 from the first edge 14 of the wrapping paper 2 up to the second edge 16. The second edge 16 of the wrapping paper 2 is in this case expediently congruent with the second end 26 of the material strip 22.

The wrapping paper furthermore has a crease line 28 extending from the first side edge 18 up to the second side edge 20. This crease line 28 divides the wrapping paper 2 into a smaller first section 40 and a larger second section 42. In the embodiment depicted in FIG. 1, this crease line has been applied to the inner side 10 lying opposite the outer side 12. In FIG. 1, one looks at the outer side 12 of the wrapping material. Accordingly, the material strip or the sleeve 22 is present glued to the outer side 12 of the wrapping paper 2 in the depicted embodiment. It has proven expedient to attach the material strip or the sleeve 22 centered between the first and the second side edge 18, 20. The width of the material strip 22 is regularly less than the shortest distance between the first and the second side edge 18, 20, in some cases significantly less than this shortest distance.

FIG. 2 shows a second embodiment of a wrapping material 1 according to the present disclosure, likewise in a plan view on the outer side 12 thereof. In contrast to the wrapping material of FIG. 1, the sleeve 22 is not printed in the section 32, which is located at the first end 24 thereof, while the remaining outer-side part of the sleeve is present printed. The crease line 28 is again present applied to the inner side. FIG. 3 shows a plan view on the inner side of the wrapping material 1 according to FIG. 2. In this embodiment, the packaged goods are regularly placed on this inner side adjacent to the crease line 28 on the larger second section 42 in order to wrap it with the wrapping material 1 and to package it. In the embodiment according to FIG. 3, the adhesive strip 38 is likewise depicted, with which the sleeve 22 is attached to the outer side 12 of the wrapping paper 2.

FIG. 4 shows the wrapping material 1 according to FIGS. 2 and 3 in an embodiment in which it is present in pre-folded form due to the crease line 28 applied to the inner side or into which it can be easily transferred due to this crease line. The packaged goods will be placed on the inner side due to the different size of the first and second sections 40, 42 on the larger section 42, namely for the purpose of bringing about an effective wrapping adjacent to the crease line 28. In this mode of operation, the shorter section 40 containing the unprinted section 32 in the sleeve 22 will be wrapped by the longer or larger section 42 and thus remains hidden. An immaculate design is thus always obtained.

FIG. 5 shows a schematic side view of a first embodiment of a stack of wrapping materials according to the present disclosure, as it can be present for example in a carton for transport or for removal at the place of use. The individual wrapping materials are already present in the stack pre-folded along the crease line 28. Hereby, the outer side of the longer section 42 lies on the outer side of the shorter section 40. The wrapping materials are arranged in this case such that all shorter sections 40 are congruent. Of course, it is likewise possible to insert the stack depicted in FIG. 5 rotated by 180° into a carton, so that the shorter section 40 always comes to lie below the longer section 42 of the same wrapping material sheet.

FIG. 6 shows a further embodiment of a stack of wrapping materials according to the present disclosure in schematic side view. In contrast to the stack according to FIG. 5, the individual wrapping materials are arranged alternately with respect to the orientation of the shorter section 40 present folded. Both when using the stack according to FIG. 5 and when using the stack according to FIG. 6, a support surface for the packaged goods is immediately presented during removal by a user by means of gripping the shorter first section 40 over the larger second section 42. This significantly facilitates the flawless packaging process.
