Claims
- 1. A writing instrument comprising;
- a front tubular member (1);
- an inner front tubular member (2) disposed in said front tubular member (1);
- a writing refill (3) inserted in said inner front tubular member (2);
- a driver (10) mounted in said front tubular member (1) and inner front tubular member (2), said driver (10) being rotatable but not axially displaceable relative to said front tubular member (1) and said inner front tubular member (2);
- a rear tubular member (5) detachably connected to said driver (10) and unrotatable relative thereto;
- an inner rear tubular member (4) inserted in said driver (10);
- an inclined path (7) in one of said inner tubular members (2, 4) extending at an oblique angle relative to the axis of said inner tubular member (2, 4) from a first end (7A) to a second end (7B);
- a projection (8) on an end of the other of said inner tubular members (2, 4) engaging said inclined path (7); said other inner tubular member (2, 4) having said projection having the end cut off on a side opposite said projection (8) so that said projection (8) can pass through said one tubular member (2, 4) and engage said inclined path (7);
- said rear inner tubular member (4) and driver (10) inter-engaging with each other by engagement between at least one axial groove (11) and corresponding projection (12) to allow axial displacement but not rotation relative to said driver (10).
- 2. The writing instrument according to claim 1 in which said inclined path (7) is narrower in width at said first end (7A) and second end (7B) than the remaining portion of said inclined path (7) to provide a positive indication to a user when said projection (8) has reached an end of said inclined path (7).
- 3. The writing instrument according to claim 1 in which said projection (8) can bend in a radial direction to allow easy engagement with said inclined path (7) due to its flexibility.
- 4. The writing instrument according to claim 3 including at least one slit in said other of said tubular members (2, 4) proximate said projection (8) to allow it to easily bend in a radial direction.
- 5. The writing instrument according to claim 1 in which said inclined path (7) is in said inner front tubular member (2) and said projection (8) is on said inner rear tubular member.
- 6. A writing instrument comprising;
- a front tubular member (1);
- an inner front tubular member (2) disposed in said front tubular member (1);
- a writing refill (3) inserted in said inner front tubular member (2);
- a driver (10) mounted in said front tubular member (1) and inner front tubular member (2), said driver (10) being rotatable but not axially displaceable relative to said front tubular member (1) and said inner front tubular member (2);
- a rear tubular member (5) detachably connected to said driver (10) and unrotatable relative thereto;
- an inner rear tubular member (4) inserted in said driver (10);
- an inclined path (7) in one of said inner tubular members (2, 4) extending at an oblique angle relative to the axis of said inner tubular member (2, 4) from a first end (7A) to a second end (7B);
- said first end of said inclined path being in communication with a rear inner void space of said writing instrument through a closed expandable slit (2B);
- a projection (8) on the other of said inner tubular members (2, 4) inserted through said closed expandable slit (2B) and engaging said inclined path (7);
- said inner rear tubular member (4) and driver (10) inter-engaging with each other by engagement between at least one axial groove (11) and corresponding projection (12) to allow axial displacement but not rotation relative to said driver (10).
- 7. The writing instrument according to claim 6 in which said inclined path (7) is narrower in width at said first end (7A) and second end (7B) than the remaining portion of said inclined path (7) to provide a positive indication to a user when said projection (8) has reached an end of said inclined path (7).
- 8. The writing instrument according to claim 6 in which said projection (8) can bend in a radial direction to allow easy engagement with said inclined path (7) due to its flexibility.
- 9. The writing instrument according to claim 8 including at least one slit in said other of said tubular members (2, 4) proximate said projection (8) to allow it to easily bend in a radial direction.
- 10. The writing instrument according to claim 6 in which said inclined path (7) is in said inner front tubular member (2) and said projection (8) is on said inner rear tubular member.
- 11. A writing instrument comprising;
- a front tubular member (1);
- an inner front tubular member (2) disposed in said front tubular member (1);
- a writing refill (3) inserted in said inner front tubular member (2);
- a driver (10) mounted in said front tubular member (1) and inner front tubular member (2), said driver (10) being rotatable but not axially displaceable relative to said front tubular member (1) and said inner front tubular member (2);
- a rear tubular member (5) detachably connected to said driver (10) and rotatable relative thereto;
- an inner rear tubular member (4) inserted in said driver (10);
- an inclined path (7) in one of said inner tubular members (2, 4) extending at an oblique angle relative to the axis of said inner tubular member (2, 4) from a first end (7A) to a second end (7B);
- said first end of said included path being in communication with a rear inner void space of said writing instrument through an expandable slit having closed portions (2B) and open portions (2C);
- a projection (8) on the other of said inner tubular members (2, 4) inserted through said expandable slit and engaging said inclined path (7);
- said inner rear tubular member (4) and driver (10) inter-engaging with each other by engagement between at least one axial groove (11) and corresponding projection (12) to allow axial displacement but not rotation relative to said driver (10).
- 12. The writing instrument according to claim 11 in which said inclined path (7) is narrower in width at said first end (7A) and second end (7B) than the remaining portion of said inclined path (7) to provide a positive indication to a user when said projection (8) has reached an end of said inclined path (7).
- 13. The writing instrument according to claim 11 in which said projection (8) can bend in a radial direction to allow easy engagement with said inclined path (7) due to its flexibility.
- 14. The writing instrument according to claim 13 including at least one slit in said other of said tubular members (2, 4) proximate said projection (8) to allow it to easily bend in a radial direction.
- 15. The writing instrument according to claim 11 in which said inclined path (7) is in said inner front tubular member (2) and said projection (8) is on said inner rear tubular member.
- 16. A writing instrument comprising;
- a front tubular member (1);
- an inner front tubular member (2) disposed in said front tubular member (1);
- a writing refill (3) inserted in said inner front tubular member (2);
- a driver (10) mounted in said front tubular member (1) and inner front tubular member (2), said driver (10) being rotatable but not axially displaceable relative to said front tubular member (1) and said inner front tubular member (2);
- a rear tubular member (5) detachably connected to said driver (10) and unrotatable relative thereto;
- an inner rear tubular member (4) inserted in said driver (10);
- an inclined path (7) in one of said inner tubular members (2, 4) extending at an oblique angle relative to the axis of said inner tubular member (2, 4) from a first end (7A) to a second end (7B);
- a projection (8) on the other of said inner tubular members (2, 4) engaging said inclined path (7);
- said inclined path (7) being formed in an engaging member (17) engaging a matching hole (18) in said one of said inner tubular members (2, 4);
- said projection (8) being inserted in said matching hole (18) through a closed expandable slit (2B);
- said rear inner tubular member (4) and driver (10) inter-engaging with each other by engagement between at least one axial groove (11) and corresponding projection (12) to allow axial displacement but not rotation relative of said driver (10).
- 17. The writing instrument according to claim 16 in which said inclined path (7) is narrower in width at said first end (7A) and second end (7B) than the remaining portion of said inclined path (7) to provide a positive indication to a user when said projection (8) has reached an end of said inclined path (7).
- 18. The writing instrument according to claim 16 in which said projection (8) can bend in a radial direction to allow easy engagement with said inclined path (7) due to its flexibility.
- 19. The writing instrument according to claim 18 including at least one slit in said other of said tubular members (2, 4) proximate said projection (8) to allow it to easily bend in a radial direction.
- 20. The writing instrument according to claim 16 in which said inclined path (7) is in said inner front tubular member (2) and said projection (8) is on said inner rear tubular member.
