Claims
- 1. An air diverter for a Wurster product coating apparatus having a spray nozzle body with a spray nozzle positioned in a container for coating the product with a sprayed solution, the device comprising:a sleeve positioned adjacent the nozzle and having a plurality of holes therein directed away from the spray nozzle; an air line operatively connected to the sleeve to force air through the holes in a radial direction so as to move the product laterally away from the spray nozzle.
- 2. The air diverter of claim 1 wherein the sleeve includes upper and lower ends, and the air diverter further comprising a manifold attached to the lower end of the sleeve, the holes being in the upper end of the sleeve and the air line being attached to the manifold.
- 3. The air diverter of claim 1 wherein the sleeve includes air passages providing communication between the holes and the air line.
- 4. The air diverter of claim 1 wherein the sleeve has upper and lower ends, the holes being spaced circumferentially around the sleeve adjacent the upper end.
- 5. An air diverter for a Wurster apparatus having a spray nozzle extending into an upbed zone, comprising:a sleeve extending around the nozzle and having holes extending approximately perpendicular to a spray axis of the spray nozzle to direct air outwardly away from the nozzle.
- 6. The air diverter of claim 5 further comprising an air line connected to the sleeve to supply air to the sleeve.
- 7. The air diverter of claim 6 wherein a manifold connects the air line to the sleeve.
- 8. The air diverter of claim 5 wherein the holes extend circumferentially around the sleeve.
