ABSTRACT: The overarching goal of Wyoming INBRE is to help Wyoming build its biomedical research and education infrastructure. A key goal of the current INBRE Phase 4 is to work with the University of Wyoming administration and the state-funded Wyoming Science Initiative to build STEM infrastructure and to make the resources and investments of the SI available to Wyoming INBRE partner institutions and their faculty and students for biomedical research, education and training. The dual source single crystal x-ray diffractometer will be housed in the SI building Center for Advanced Scientific Instrumentation (CASI). This high-quality instrument will enhance research capabilities in a wide variety of fields. Importantly, it will provide the ability to do three-dimensional structure and function of many biological molecules, including proteins and nucleic acids that does not currently exist in Wyoming. All instrumentation in the CASI is available to UW and Wyoming Community College faculty and students, including Wyoming INBRE and Sensory Biology COBRE associated individuals, for research, training, and education.
