Claims
- 1. An x-ray crystallography reagent for use in elucidating the three-dimensional structure of a predetermined bioactive agent which is capable of forming a highly ordered structure, said reagent comprising a dewatered microcapsule having a polymeric membrane surrounding an interior cavity, said interior cavity containing a saturated or nearly saturated solution of said bioactive agent and containing said bioactive agent in the form of a highly ordered structure substantially filling the interior cavity of said microcapsule.
- 2. The reagent of claim 1 wherein said highly ordered structure is a protein crystal.
- 3. The reagent of claim 1 wherein said polymeric membrane is electrostatically charged.
- 4. The reagent of claim 2 wherein said microcapsule is adapted for being supported electrostatically by a fiber loop having a surface charge different and opposite from said microcapsule.
