- 9. The yarn texturing machine of claim 1 wherein said yarn feed roll and said drive motor are mounted to said slide.
- 10. A yarn texturing machine for texturing an advancing thermoplastic yarn, comprisinga plurality of serially arranged feed systems, with at least one of the feed systems comprising a slide which is displaceable along a guide rail between a servicing position and an operating position, and with the slide of the one feed system being guided along the guide rail by means of a slide element which slideably engages the guide rail, and a drive coupled to the slide or slide element via a connecting means so as to move the slide between the servicing position and the operating position, wherein the drive comprises a cylinder having a piston slideably mounted therein, and a pneumatic system for selectively admitting compressed air to opposite sides of the piston, and wherein the connecting means comprises a cable line connecting the piston to the slide element.
- 11. The yarn texturing machine of claim 10, wherein the cable line comprises two cables, which are guided respectively over an upper pulley and a lower pulley, and which are each attached with one end to the piston and with the opposite end to the slide element, and wherein the cylinder has at each end an inlet, through which one of the cables extends.
- 12. The yarn texturing machine of claim 11, wherein each inlet of the cylinder accommodates a seal, through which the associated cable extends.
- 13. A yarn texturing machine for texturing an advancing thermoplastic yarn, comprisinga plurality of serially arranged feed systems, with at least one of the feed systems comprising a slide which is displaceable along a guide rail between a servicing position and an operating position, and with the slide of the one feed system being guided along the guide rail by means of a slide element which slideably engages the guide rail, and a drive coupled to the slide or slide element via a connecting means so as to move the slide between the servicing position and the operating position, and wherein the one feed system includes a feed roll rotatably mounted to the slide, and wherein the slide is pivotally connected to the slide element so that in the operating position the slide is pivotally moveable between a raised deflected position and a retracted sliding position.
- 14. The yarn texturing machine of claim 13, further comprising a pivot mechanism for pivoting the slide between the deflected and sliding positions, said pivot mechanism comprising a push element which slideably engages the guide rail, and a pivot axle pivotally connecting the slide and the push element.
- 15. The yarn texturing machine of claim 14, wherein the pivotal connection between the slide and the slide element comprises a rocking arm which is pivotally connected to both the slide and the slide element.
- 16. The yarn texturing machine of claim 15, wherein the slide element and the push element are mounted in an adjacent but spaced apart arrangement on the guide rail, and wherein the rocking arm between the slide and the slide element is positioned so as to cause pivotal movement of the slide between the deflected and retracted positions by relative movement between the slide element and the push element.
- 17. The yarn texturing machine of claim 16, wherein the guide rail includes a stop against which the push element engages in the operating position, and wherein the slide element may then be moved relative to the push element to cause the pivotal movement of the slide.
- 18. The yarn texturing machine of claim 17, wherein the rocking arm is positioned so as to provide an over-the-center self-actuating lock to hold the slide in the deflected position.
- 19. The yarn texturing machine of claim 13, wherein the feed roll is located on the slide relative to the yarn path of travel so that in the deflected position the yarn loops about the feed roll to an extent greater than it does in the sliding position.
- 20. A yarn texturing machine for texturing an advancing thermoplastic yarn, comprisinga plurality of serially arranged feed systems, with at least one of the feed systems comprising a slide which is displaceable along a guide rail between a servicing position and an operating position, and with the slide of the one feed system being guided along the guide rail by means of a slide element which slideably engages the guide rail, and a drive coupled to the slide or slide element via a connecting means so as to move the slide between the servicing position and the operating position, wherein the one feed system comprises a feed roll which has a zigzag yarn guide track formed on its circumference, and wherein the one feed system further comprises a guide member mounted for movement relative to the feed roll so as to vary the extent of the looping of the yarn about the feed roll and such that in a threading position the yarn does not contact the yarn guide track and in an operating position the yarn contacts the yarn guide track.
