Claims
- 1. A winder for winding a yarn comprising:
- a frame:
- a spindle rotatably supported from the frame for mounting a bobbin on which the yarn is wound;
- a housing connected to the frame;
- a contact roller supported by the housing, said contact roller having a roller portion, cooperable with the bobbin on the spindle during a winding operation, and shaft portions projecting axially outwardly from the roller portion;
- at least one electric motor for rotating the contact roller, the at least one electric motor having a stator on the housing and a rotor integral with at least one of the shaft portions of the contact roller; and
- bearing means for rotatably mounting the shaft portions and said rotor in the housing, said bearing means consisting essentially of two bearings located respectively on said shaft portions axially outward from said roller portion and said rotor.
- 2. A winder for winding a yarn comprising:
- a frame;
- a spindle rotatably supported from the frame for mounting a bobbin on which the yarn is wound;
- a housing connected to the frame;
- a contact roller supported by the housing, said contact roller having a roller portion, cooperable with the bobbin on the spindle during a winding operation, and shaft portions projecting axially outwardly from the roller portion;
- a pair of electric motors for rotating the contact roller, each of the pair of electric motors having a stator on the housing and a rotor integral with the respective shaft portions of the contact roller; and
- bearing means for rotatably supporting the shaft portions and rotors from the housing, said bearing means consisting essentially of two bearings located respectively on said integral shaft portions axially outward from said roller portion and said rotors.
- 3. A winder for winding a yarn comprising:
- a frame;
- a spindle rotatably supported from the frame for mounting a bobbin on which the yarn is wound;
- a housing connected to the frame;
- a contact roller supported by the housing, said contact roller having a roller portion, cooperable with the bobbin on the spindle during a winding operation, and shaft portions projecting axially outwardly from the roller portion;
- an electric motor for rotating the contact roller, the electric motor having a stator on the housing and rotor integral with at least one of the shaft portions of the contact roller;
- a heat conductive member having a first end located in the housing at a location adjacent the electric motor and a second end located outside the housing at a location opposite the contact roller;
- a cooling member fixedly attached to the second end of the heat conductive member; and
- bearing means for rotatably supporting the shaft portions and the rotor from the housing, said bearing means consisting essentially of two bearings located respectively on said shaft portions axially outward from said roller portion and said rotor.
- 4. A winder for winding a yarn comprising:
- a frame;
- a spindle rotatably supported from the frame for mounting a bobbin on which the yarn is wound;
- a housing connected to the frame;
- a contact roller supported by the housing, said contact roller having a roller portion, cooperable with the bobbin on the spindle during a winding operation, and shaft portions projecting axially outwardly from the roller portion;
- an electric motor for rotating the contact roller, the electric motor having a stator on the housing and a rotor integral with one of said shaft portions of the contact roller;
- a heat conductive member extending substantially centrally and axially in the contact roller, the heat conductive member being located inwardly of a portion of the housing adjacent the electric motor; and
- bearing means for rotatably supporting the shaft portions and the rotor from the housing, said bearing means consisting essentially of two bearings located respectively on said shaft portions axially outward from said roller portion and said rotor.
- 5. A winder for winding a yarn comprising;
- a frame;
- a spindle rotatably supported from the frame for mounting a bobbin on which the yarn is wound;
- a housing connected to the frame;
- a contact roller supported by the housing, said contact roller having a roller portion, cooperable with the bobbin on the spindle during a winding operation, and shaft portions projecting axially outwardly from the roller portion;
- bearing means for rotatably supporting the shaft portions from the housing, said bearing means consisting essentially of two bearings located respectively on said shaft portions axially outward from said roller portion; and
- a heat conductive member extending substantially centrally and axially in the contact roller, the heat conductive member having opposite axial ends located adjacent the two bearings.
