Claims
- 1. An improved dry-spun filament, yarn or fiber consisting essentially of atactic polyvinyl chloride, and having the following characteristics:
- a residual shrinkage in boiling water of less than 3%,
- a modulus of elasticity which is greater than or equal to 2 kN/mm.sup.2,
- an orientation index of the crystalline zones which is greater than or equal to 70%,
- an orientation index of the mesomorphic zones which is greater than or equal to 8%, and
- an orientation index of the amorphous zones which is greater than or equal to 5%.
- 2. An improved dry-spun filament, yarn, or fiber as defined in claim 1, and having:
- a residual shrinkage in boiling water of between 1 and 2.5%,
- a modulus of elasticity of between 2 and 3.5 kN/mm.sup.2,
- an orientation index of the crystalline zones of between 74 and 85%, and
- an orientation index of the mesomorphic and amorphous zones of between 10 and 20%.
