Claims
- 1. A dye of the formula: ##SPC15##
- wherein Y is a member selected from the group consisting of cyano, benzyl, carbamoyl, N-lower alkyl carbamoyl, N,N-dilower alkyl carbamoyl, N-phenylcarbamoyl, N-loweralkoxy phenylcarbamoyl, N-loweralkyl phenyl carbamoyl, N-halophenyl carbamoyl, lower carbalkoxy, lower cyanocarbalkoxy, phenyl sulfonyl, halophenyl sulfonyl, and lower alkylphenylsulfonyl; R.sub.1 is a member selected from the group consisting of lower alkyl, hydroxy lower alkyl and cyano lower alkyl; R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are members selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, chlorine and bromine, and R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 are members selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, lower alkyl, cyano lower alkyl and hydroxy lower alkyl and taken collectively form a 5 or 6-membered ring structure containing an additional nitrogen or oxygen hetero atom.
- 2. The dye of claim 1 wherein Y is cyano, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 are hydrogen; and R.sub.1 is ethyl.
- 3. The dye of claim 1 wherein Y is cyano, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are hydrogen; R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 are methyl; and R.sub.1 is ethyl.
- 4. The dye of claim 1 wherein Y is N-tolylcarbamoyl; R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 are hydrogen; and R.sub.1 is ethyl.
- 5. The dye of claim 1 wherein Y is carbethoxy; R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are hydrogen; R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 are methyl; and R.sub.1 is ethyl.
- 6. The dye of claim 1 wherein Y is phenylsulfonyl, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are hydrogen; R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 are methyl; and R.sub.1 is ethyl.
- 7. A dye of the formula: ##SPC16##in which R.sub.1 is methyl, ethyl or cyanoethyl; R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are hydrogen or methyl: R.sub.4 is hydrogen and R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 are hydrogen, methyl, ethyl or cyanoethyl.
- 8. The dye of claim 7 in which R.sub.1 is ethyl, R.sub.3 is methyl and R.sub.2, R.sub.4, R.sub.5, and R.sub.6 are hydrogen.
- 9. The dye of claim 7 in which R.sub.1 is cyanoethyl, R.sub.3 is methyl and R.sub.2, R.sub.4, R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 are hydrogen.
