Abstract
The present invention discloses a zipper chain having a chain disposed separately on both sides of a fabric tape of a zipper.
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a zipper chain, and more particularly to a zipper chain having a teeth chain disposed separately on both sides of tape of a zipper.

2. Description of the Related Art

A slide fastener or a zipper has the features of connecting an object or objects conveniently by opening or closing the zipper while providing a high reliability, and thus the slide fastener or zipper becomes an extensively used item in our daily life. Since the invention of zippers, zippers have become very popular and widely used in many areas including clothing, purses, sleeping bags, and tents, etc.

In general, a zipper has teeth chain disposed on a side of a tape, and a slider rides up and down between two teeth to open and close the zipper. Since the teeth are usually made of different materials, zippers are divided into metal zippers which are made of metals such copper and aluminum, nylon zippers which are made of nylon or polyester, and plastic zippers. In addition, some PVC zippers adopt ribs and slits for sliding the slider and some flat-tooth zippers adopt flat teeth for providing a smoother surface. There are various different kinds of zippers, and their manufacturing methods vary from each other. However, the ultimate purpose of these zippers is to connect or separate two sets of corresponding teeth by using the slider to open or close a zipper.

In a traditional zipper, regardless a nylon, metal, or plastic zipper, a teeth chain containing teeth (which are coil or spiral teeth for nylon zippers or equidistant identical teeth for metal and plastic zippers) is disposed on a side of a tape. The PVC zipper uses ribs and slits to close the teeth in the same direction, and each teeth chain of two tapes are provided for connecting the stitched object such as clothes and purses, etc.

The aforementioned method has been used for years to achieve the function of closing a zipper, but another side of the fabric tape is left unused, and thus the prior art zippers require further improvements.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In view of the shortcomings of the prior art, the inventor of the present invention based on years of experience in the related industry to conduct extensive researches and experiments, and finally invented a zipper chain in accordance with the invention.

Therefore, it is a primary objective of the present invention to provide a zipper chain to overcome the shortcomings of the prior art.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

The present invention will now be described in more detail herein after with reference to the accompanying drawings that show various embodiments of the invention, in which:

FIG. 1 is a schematic view of a zipper chain of the present invention;

FIG. 2 is a schematic view of a zipper chain being closed according to the present invention; and

FIG. 3 is a schematic view of a zipper chain being applied to an object according to the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Referring to the figures, a zipper chain comprises a tape 1 and a teeth chain 2 disposed separately on both sides of the tape 1.

The tape 1 is in a slender shape and provided for connecting the teeth chain 2, and the tape 1 includes but not limited to a fabric tape or a polymer tape, and its width can be changed according to actual needs.

The teeth chain 2 comprises a plurality of teeth 21 stitched in a continuous nylon coil or spiral form and disposed on both sides of the tape 1, or formed by implantation (for metal zippers) or plastic injection (for plastic zippers). The teeth chain 2 of the present invention could be a rib or slit of the aforementioned PVC zipper, and the flat teeth can be formed by directing connecting the teeth onto the tape 1, so as to produce a zipper chain having a teeth chain 2 disposed on both sides of the tape 1.

Referring to FIG. 2 for the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the teeth chain 2 is extended and connected to define a closed status, and the teeth chain 2 on another side of tape 1 can be connected externally to an object.

Referring to FIG. 3 for the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the teeth chain 2 can be operated with a traditional zipper having a single-sided teeth chain to constitute a pulling mechanism for a multiple of zippers.

Unlike the prior art that requires stitching four single-sided teeth chains onto the objects respectively in order to close a zipper for connecting two sets of objects, the preferred embodiment of the present invention simply requires two stitching processes (for sewing the outer sides), and thus the invention definitely can save the manufacturing time and provide a complete overall appearance.

More particularly for products with partitions such as a handbag, the invention just needs to connect the tape having teeth chains on both sides of the tape or work together with another traditional zipper to partially or selectively form a pulling device, so as to reduce the cutting and connecting (hot-pressing stitching) processes during the production of the zippers.

While the invention has been described by way of examples and in terms of preferred embodiments, it is to be understood that the invention is not limited thereto. To the contrary, it is intended to cover various modifications and similar arrangements and procedures, and the scope of the appended claims therefore should be accorded the broadest interpretation so as to encompass all such modifications and similar arrangements and procedures.

In summation of the description above, the present invention complies with the patent application requirements and is submitted to the Patent and Trademark Office for review and granting of the commensurate patent rights.
