Claims
  • 1. A housing for supporting an electronic tag for a zippered container comprising: a housing having a configuration which is attached to at least one zipper of a zippered container, said housing being accommodated about an exterior of said container to limit movement of said zipper about said container; andan electronic tag supported by said housing.
  • 2. The housing of claim 1 wherein said housing includes a base and an arm, said arm having a configuration to extend through an eye of said zipper, said arm irreversibly attaches to said base to prevent said zipper from being removed therefrom.
  • 3. In combination: a container having a zipper thereabout enclosing contents within said container;a tag housing having a configuration corresponding to an eye of said zipper to affix therein; andan electronic tag supported within said housing.
  • 4. The combination of claim 3 wherein said tag is adhesively attached to said housing.
  • 5. The combination of claim 4 wherein said tag is selected from the group consisting of an article surveillance tag and a radio frequency identification tag.
  • 7. The combination of claim 1 further including a cover for covering said tag.
  • 8. A housing for supporting an electronic tag for a zippered container comprising: a base including a pair of base apertures therethrough;a cover including a pair of cover apertures which correspond to said base apertures, said cover fitting over said base to allow an electronic tag to be supported therebetween; anda locking arm having two ends and a U-shaped body therebetween, said locking arm irreversibly attaches said cover to said base by extending said arm ends through said pair of cover apertures and said pair of said base apertures.
  • 9. The housing of claim 8 wherein said locking arm includes a reduced material section on said U-shape body to allow a weakened portion for removal of the housing.
  • 10. The housing of claim 9 wherein each of said ends of said arm includes an irreversible locking member including a tip having lead-in geometry and a ridge, said ridge is radially thicker than said tip, said locking member is permitted one-way entry through said base apertures and said ridge of said locking member prevents said arm from releasing from said base apertures once said tip has been extended therethrough.
  • 11. The housing of claim 10 wherein said base includes a recess portion about said base apertures.
