Claims
- 1. A device for detecting a flow of powder particles, particularly paint particles, in a transportation line of a powder spray gun, said device comprising: a conduit having an interior face comprising an electrostatically friction-charging material, said conduit being connected to said transportation line upstream of said powder spray gun, said conduit being in electrical communication with a unit for measuring electrical signals, and that said unit is grounded.
- 2. A device as claimed in claim 1, wherein said conduit is located inside a pump.
- 3. A device as claimed in claim 1, wherein said conduit is made from an electrostatically friction-charging material.
- 4. A device as claimed in claim 1, wherein said conduit is located between a pump and the spray gun.
- 5. A device as claimed in claim 1, wherein said conduit is located between a powder reservoir and a pump.
- 6. The device of claim 1 wherein said conduit connects a powder reservoir to said spray gun.
- 7. The device of claim 1 wherein said unit is an ampere meter.
- 8. The device of claim 1 wherein said gun is a corona gun.
- 9. The device of claim 1 wherein said conduit is electrically conductive.
- 10. A method for detecting the flow or absence of flow of paint powder particles flowing in a paint powder transportation line to at least one spray gun, said method comprising the steps of: electrostatically charging the paint powder particles in a portion of said paint powder transportation line; and
- 11. In an apparatus for electrostatic powder coating, a device is provided for detecting a flow of powder particles, particularly powdered paint particles, said apparatus comprising:
- 12. In an apparatus for electrostatic powder coating having a reservoir holding said powder particles, at least one powder spray gun, a transportation line extending from said reservoir to said at least one powder spray gun, a pump located along said transportation line and a unit for sensing electrical signals, a method comprising the steps of:
