Claims
- 1. An improved ammunition magazine comprising:
a magazine body with sidewalls, a feed end for interfacing with a given weapon, a floor end opposite the feed end and a floor plate covering said floor end, the part of the magazine between the floor plate and the feed end being defined as below the level of the floor plate; and, a handle extending from at least one sidewall of said magazine, the handle extending from at least one sidewall above the level of the floor plate, thereby providing an integral extraction handle.
- 2. The improved magazine of claim 1, the handle being formed by extending at least one sidewall above the level of the floor plate.
- 3. The improved magazine of claim 2, wherein a plurality of walls are extended and joined together in one piece to form an integral extraction handle.
- 4. The improved magazine of claim 3, wherein the handle is a loop protruding from opposite magazine walls, the loop defining an apex, with an underside facing the remainder of the magazine.
- 5. The improved magazine of claim 4, wherein at least one hollow region is fashioned along the loop handle, any hollow regions thus defining interior areas.
- 6. The improved magazine of claim 5, wherein the interior areas of any hollow regions are roughened to increase friction for grasping said handle.
- 7. The improved magazine of claim 6, wherein the handle measures 1.5 to 1.75 inches in height and 0.5 to 1 inch in width.
- 8. The improved magazine of claim 7, wherein the underside of the apex of the handle is molded with greater thickness with respect to the rest of said handle.
- 9. The improved magazine of claim 8, wherein the underside of the apex of the handle is fashioned in a step-like pattern.
- 10. The improved magazine of claim 8, where the underside of the apex of the handle is roughened to increase friction between the handle and a finger used to extract the magazine.
- 11. The improved magazine of claim 6, wherein the underside of the apex of the handle is molded with greater thickness with respect to the rest of said handle.
- 12. The improved magazine of claim 11, wherein the underside of the apex of the handle is fashioned in a step-like pattern.
- 13. The improved magazine of claim 11, where the underside of the apex of the handle is roughened to increase friction between the handle and a finger used to extract the magazine.
- 14. The improved magazine of claim 5, wherein the underside of the apex of the handle is molded with greater thickness with respect to the rest of said handle.
- 15. The improved magazine of claim 14, wherein the underside of the apex of the handle is fashioned in a step-like pattern.
- 16. The improved magazine of claim 14, where the underside of the apex of the handle is roughened to increase friction between the handle and a finger used to extract the magazine.
- 17. The improved magazine of claim 4, wherein the underside of the apex of the handle is molded with greater thickness with respect to the rest of said handle.
- 18. The improved magazine of claim 17, wherein the underside of the apex of the handle is fashioned in a step-like pattern.
- 19. The improved magazine of claim 17, where the underside of the apex of the handle is roughened to increase friction between the handle and a finger used to extract the magazine.
- 20. The improved magazine of claim 2, wherein the handle is at least one tab protruding from a corresponding at least one sidewall.
- 21. The improved magazine of claim 20, wherein the shape of the handle is selected from the set of shapes consisting of: a flat polygonal tab, an ellipsoidal tab, a wedge, a shape having any combination of rounded and straight edges, a cylinder, and a rectangular solid.
- 22. The improved magazine of claim 20, wherein a plurality of hollows are fashioned in the handle, any said hollows each defining an interior region.
- 23. The improved magazine of claim 22, wherein the shape of the handle is selected from the set of shapes consisting of: a flat polygonal tab, an ellipsoidal tab, a wedge, a shape having any combination of rounded and straight edges, a cylinder, and a rectangular solid.
- 24. The improved magazine of claim 22, wherein the interior regions of the hollows are roughened to increase friction.
- 25. The improved magazine of claim 24, wherein the shape of the handle is selected from the set of shapes consisting of: a flat polygonal tab, an ellipsoidal tab, a wedge, a shape having any combination of rounded and straight edges, a cylinder, and a rectangular solid.
- 26. The improved magazine of claim 24, wherein the handle height measures 1.0 to 1.5 inches.
- 27. The improved magazine of claim 26, wherein the shape of the handle is selected from the set of shapes consisting of: a flat polygonal tab, an ellipsoidal tab, a wedge, a shape having any combination of rounded and straight edges, a cylinder, and a rectangular solid.
- 28. The improved magazine of claim 26, wherein a hole, suitable for attachment purposes, is fashioned in the handle.
- 29. The improved magazine of claim 28, wherein the shape of the handle is selected from the set of shapes consisting of: a flat polygonal tab, an ellipsoidal tab, a wedge, a shape having any combination of rounded and straight edges, a cylinder, and a rectangular solid.
- 30. The improved magazine of claim 1, the handle further comprising a handle portion and an anchoring portion, the anchoring portion being fastened on at least one sidewall of the magazine body.
- 31. The handle extension of claim 30, wherein the handle is a loop with at least one terminus at its anchoring portion
- 32. The handle extension of claim 31, wherein at least one hollow region is fashioned along the loop handle, any said hollow regions defining an interior area.
- 33. The handle extension of claim 32, wherein the interior areas of any hollow regions are roughened to increase friction for grasping said handle.
- 34. The handle extension of claim 33, wherein the handle measures 1.5 to 1.75 inches in height and 0.5 to 1 inch in width.
- 35. The handle extension of claim 34, wherein the top underside of the handle is molded with greater thickness with respect to the rest of said handle.
- 36. The handle extension of claim 35, wherein the thicker portion of the handle is fashioned in a step-like pattern.
- 37. The handle extension of claim 35, where the thicker portion of the handle is roughened to increase friction between the handle and a finger used to extract the magazine.
- 38. The handle extension of claim 34, wherein the top underside of the handle is molded with greater thickness with respect to the rest of said handle.
- 39. The handle extension of claim 38, wherein the thicker portion of the handle is fashioned in a step-like pattern.
- 40. The handle extension of claim 38, where the thicker portion of the handle is roughened to increase friction between the handle and a finger used to extract the magazine.
- 41. The handle extension of claim 33, wherein the top underside of the handle is molded with greater thickness with respect to the rest of said handle.
- 42. The handle extension of claim 41, wherein the thicker portion of the handle is fashioned in a step-like pattern.
- 43. The handle extension of claim 41, where the thicker portion of the handle is roughened to increase friction between the handle and a finger used to extract the magazine.
- 44. The handle extension of claim 32, wherein the top underside of the handle is molded with greater thickness with respect to the rest of said handle.
- 45. The handle extension of claim 44, wherein the thicker portion of the handle is fashioned in a step-like pattern.
- 46. The handle extension of claim 44, where the thicker portion of the handle is roughened to increase friction between the handle and a finger used to extract the magazine.
- 47. The handle extension of claim 31, wherein the top underside of the handle is molded with greater thickness with respect to the rest of said handle.
- 48. The handle extension of claim 47, wherein the thicker portion of the handle is fashioned in a step-like pattern.
- 49. The handle extension of claim 47, where the thicker portion of the handle is roughened to increase friction between the handle and a finger used to extract the magazine.
- 50. The handle extension of claim 30, wherein the handle is a tab protruding from the floor plate.
- 51. The handle extension of claim 50, wherein the handle is shaped according to the following set of shapes: a flat polygon, a wedge, an ellipsoid, a shape having any combination of rounded and straight edges, a cylinder, and a rectangular solid.
- 52. The handle extension of claim 50, wherein a plurality of hollows are fashioned in the handle.
- 53. The handle extension of claim 52, wherein the handle is shaped according to the following set of shapes: a flat polygon, a wedge, an ellipsoid, a shape having any combination of rounded and straight edges, a cylinder, and a rectangular solid.
- 54. The handle extension of claim 52, wherein the interior regions of the hollows are roughened to increase friction.
- 55. The handle extension of claim 54, wherein the handle is shaped according to the following set of shapes: a flat polygon, a wedge, an ellipsoid, a shape having any combination of rounded and straight edges, a cylinder, and a rectangular solid.
- 56. The handle extension of claim 54, wherein the handle height measures 1.0 to 1.5 inches.
- 57. The handle extension of claim 56, wherein the handle is shaped according to the following set of shapes: a flat polygon, a wedge, an ellipsoid, a shape having any combination of rounded and straight edges, a cylinder, and a rectangular solid.
- 58. The magazine grip of claim 56, wherein a hole, suitable for attachment purposes, is fashioned in the handle.
- 59. The magazine grip of claim 58, wherein the handle is shaped according to the following set of shapes: a flat polygon, a wedge, an ellipsoid, a shape having any combination of rounded and straight edges, a cylinder, and a rectangular solid.
